It’s so interesting to see similar dishes with similar names around the world. Similar to the Chinese counterpart of Congee, in Kerala, rice porridge is called Kanji and usually had with stir vegetables/lentils with coconut and/or with pickles/thick coconut chutney. This kind of implies that people travelled across the globe and took with them certain recipes or inspiration to create new food.
