We are always astounded how fast SpaceX improves and installs modified equipment.

On a good point if they want a a flame deverta the rocket creating a good hole to start with.
L have said that the lunch pad had to be higher so making a hole under the lunch pad is a better idea

"Performed relatively well on its debut test flight..." Shit was visibly falling off this thing just seconds after liftoff.

We be lucky if we see another starship launch 12months from now. The FAA is going to have a field day with the damage and debris caused by this attempt.

I can't see Starship launching untill 2024.

Very good content this time. Actually informative.

Good updates. Two things. Lunar starship is not the same rocket as the one being launched. But it does depend on multiple fuel loading launches of terrestrial starship. So there’s a dependency. Second point. Why the robot voice? It’s a turn off for me given other great channels for space are available

FAA did not ground spacex. FAA only gave launch permission for this one launch. There is no toxic or hazardous chemicals from the launch due to the rocket operating on Liquid Methane and Liquid Oxygen - Methalox.

I love unscheduled rapid disassembly. Let's do it again

I think the water cool steal plates will get detroyed.

I hope that they have a big metal bowl made of overlapping steel sheets. Inside, it's full of water with more available.

Why not keep the pit, reinforce it, & line it with the water cooled steel plates?

SpaceX are already ahead of schedule to install the water cooled steel plate over new Fondag concrete foundations. Booster 7 dug the hole to get them started. 😇

Excellent postmortem. "Losing one is not a big deal." Is he kidding? Elon is overjoyed to be rid of that stack. That prototype had legacy hardware that won't be used on the next stack.

Why not use the armour plate of an old deck from a battleship?

Any story can be told with a perceptible negative tone. When it is, the motivation should be examined and scrutinized.

I can't imagine however hardware rich SpaceX claims to be that they have a spare OLM ready to go. It would be interesting to see how teconstruction of the OLM will go, and of course bury the tanks or build a wall that can protect them and withstand the damaging forces we have see at work. I wonder what sort of modelling has been used in the design of the water cooled plate. I can imagine a rapidly evolving hot spot boiling the water meant to cool it, the pressure disrupting water flow and resulting in complete plate failure.
