I actually interpreted Sunny and Basil's relationship more in the same way I felt about my best friend at the time of the traumatic period in my life. At the time, I felt like I loved her, but when I really look back, I just loved the fact they knew what I was going through. It wasn't real love, it was just my desperation and craving for comfort.

I really like Sunflower as a ship but people who only ship it because they view Basil and Sunny as "uwu soft angels who can do no wrong" really annoy me ngl, it's like they really didnt play the game aha.
