Is Basil the most hated character in OMORI?

In this video, I talk about the possibility of Basil being the most hated character in the OMORI fandom. What do you all think? Many people say he’s hated. That might be true, but a lot of people like him too. As for Hero… nobody really cares about him, even though he’s an extremely important character.

Basil’s main issue is the fact that he has no screen time. Headspace? Nowhere to be seen. Real world? Avoids you like the plague. Black space? Dies. He just can’t keep up with even Hero who, despite being forgotten, still had like 10 hours of screen time

From what I've seen, Basil is the most POPULAR character.
That being said, his fans kind of... stand out, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Still, I very much like Basil and do not understand the people who don't.

once i was talking about basil and trying to explain his actions, mostly the moment he was blaming sunny for leaving him explaining that this was a bpd symptom and that he might have it, the person said that justifying something bad someone did because they have a problem is like justifying saying you graped someone cause you were drunk. The worst part is that this person was basically trying to justify sweetheart abuse on spaceboy earlier in our conversation cause they like her or something ig.

It's sad that people are so willing to hate a character that is a child that they make him seems like the worst person ever when he's not completely in control of himself but would gladly beauty privilege an adult who is completely aware that her actions are physical and verbal abuse.

Honestly, nobody in the game should be hated because all of em have their own share of trauma... And i don't think i have a reason to hate on Basil... Though i have to agree that Basil added to Sunny's trauma... But remember, Basil was only trying to protect sunny... If Basil never existed, sunny would've been hauled to juvenile prison or something....

I dont understand Basil hate, I mean that poor kid was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, he didn't have anything to do with Sunny and Mary's argument in the first place and in the end he got enrolled into this mess

I cant hate anybody in Omori, they're all traumatized, they all have their rights and wrongs but they clearly all have reasons for the way they act

honestly i do not understand the Basil hate-i deeply connect to him personally and understand where h e comes from, i fully get why he did what he did even if it wasn't the best decisions and his worries and fears and guilt and anxiety and stress-

Personnaly I don't hate basil, I just think he is a bit underdeveloped and is only used to advance the plot (you always either try to save him or get his album back). Beside he is the character that I sympathise with the least, I feel like the bad stuff that happens to him is more tied to his action than the other (not saying he deserved what happened to him, just saying it feels like he leaded himself to it). In the end I still like him, but he his my least favorite character out of the main bunch.

And also it probably doesn't help that I really hate that the communty made a "quirky little gay twink femboy obsessed by his boyfriend sunny uwu". Everytime I see it, I just feel like punching something.
