"let's make as much noise as possible and blast its eyes with light so we have no chance of capturing it on video"

If a Black Panther does not want you to see it, you won't

I think they’d have better luck if they shined more bright lights around and talked even louder.

I don't know when people are gonna realize that us Floridians aren't seeing wolves we're seeing large black cats

A longtime friend of mine saw this black panther in a field in Hubert, NC. He was very concerned. This was a big cat. It showed no fear. He said he was a bit over 100 yards away- too close for comfort, but removed all doubt.

You do realise a predator will have impeccable hearing, extremely good listen and a superior smell... You won't find it, it will find you... These predators lingerie in the bushes waiting, watching, studying

"We have a drone with thermal, but we gonna stay 1/4 mile from the animal so we cant confirm what it is."

A crowd of clowns stumbling around yakking and shining lights in all direction: "Well, we didn't see anything."

Although cougars are sometimes called panthers, "black panther" is not a name that can be attributed to this species. This is a blanket term for any large cat with a black coat due to a gene that produces a dark pigment. ... In big cats, black panthers are actually jaguars or leopards.

I came face to face with a big black panther while walking with my son in the back woods of Ormond Beach Fl. As I was walking on a sandy road with my 10 yr old son I heard a noise in the brush on my left, We stopped and I looked over to see this huge black face stick it's head out and stare us down. We were about 6' away, I still remember it's loud and heavy breathing. My son gave me his BB gun and here Dad shoot him, I took to it to hit the animal with and our stare, eye to eye felt like it lasted an hours but it was actually more like solid 45 seconds and slowly, I mean slow motion slowly turned around and majestically walked away and I watched in amazement it's limbs move up and down slowly as he/she slowly walked into the sand dunes. We stood there frozen in fear and amazement for a good 2 minutes. This was not someone's house cat, it's head was about three feet of the ground and it's head was like a foot in diameter, it's eyes were large very white. His face was shiny black almost like silk. It was a scarry but very touching experience for both of us, my son still talks about it.

Love how they didn’t swoop down close to the “mystery bs”

Over six and a half minutes of set up and less than 10 seconds of actual footage. Great job

I know that it has been said that there are no black panthers in the U.S., but I have seen several in different places here in North West Arkansas. Starting in 1977 when I first moved here to a heavily wooded spot near a river, until a couple of years ago when one was in my back yard. I live on the edge of town and where my backyard meets the neighbors is a perfect environment for wild animals. Last year and this a bob cat lived back there. We just gave each other a lot of space. I used to live where there were lots of wild animals; bear, deer, bob cat, and yes a panther who lived in my front yard. I found that if I didn't bother them that they wouldn't bother me. Usually when I saw one I would give it as much space as I could. There were only two incidents while I lived there. The first one was when I was walking my dogs. There was a huge oak tree across the road from the house. There was a huge limb as big as a tree stretching out over the road. When we got under the limb my dog jumped up and started raising Cane's. I looked up just as the panther jumped down with my dog right behind it they ran all the way down the canyon there that led to town, about a mile from my house. The other incident was about a year later. Our back door was what they call double-Dutch. Well it was warm weather so I had the top of the door open all day. When the sun went down I closed and locked the door. Just as I did something hit the door real hard and my dog started attacking something. I looked out the window and it was a bear. So thankful that I had that dog. He ran the bear off and it never came back. Sorry this is so long winded, I tend to get chatty.

Love in the comments people trying to tell an actual wildlife Biologist who has successfully found thought to be extinct animals before, how to find animals. Also, the fact that animal planet edits his weeks long trips into 30 minutes, so yeah they are going to use the footage you can actually see. Step off arm chair zoologists lol
