I've been to almost all of the Disney parks around the world, and Disneyland Paris impressed me in all the right ways! By far the prettiest castle park with more of a focus on 'experiences' and not just 'rides.' Let's dive into this parks strongest aspects, and also discuss what would make it even better!

It's a crying shame that they put the Star Wars overlay on Space Mountain, and didn't keep the original Jules Verne 'From the Earth to the Moon' theming. I haven't done it since the Hyperspace Mountain overlay, but did the original version and 'Mission 2' that came slightly later. Hyperspace looks like a hollow shell of what the ride was before.

I agree with almost all of what you say. The Paris park is the best “castle park” Disney has built. The attention to detail is off the scale. However, you got one thing wrong: the park did big attendance numbers from its very first year. It was always popular. It was the 5000 hotel rooms they built next to it that dragged down the bottom line. They used the Florida model of needing their own hotel rooms without noticing that Orlando in the 70’s and 80’s was much smaller than Paris. It was a big mistake to build so many hotels next to a city that, unlike Orlando, already had plenty of hotels. People stay in Paris and make day trips to Disney, not the other way around.

I love this park for all the reasons you mentioned. Definitely has the best Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain (in its original theme). One of my favorite unique features is the arcade passageways on either side of Main Street that I don’t think I discovered until my second visit. They each have beautiful architecture and I love the gas lamps. You can definitely tell that legend Tony Baxter designed the park with his passionate attention to detail. There are some great interviews with him that highlight the care that went into the park to make it the best it could be. The original vision for Discoveryland was incredible and it’s sad that it’s slowly being taken over by Disney Star Wars.

The original 'De La Terre a la Lune' was awe-inspiring. Kind of grateful I got to experience it when it first opened.

From outside visiters this park is probably great but for someone who went here 6-7 times already and seeing small to no changes to the park is just sad, glad they are trying to do some more with it

Fun fact. The terrible Indiana Jones coaster may have been built by Intamin but the layout was designed by a name you either love or hate in this industry. Pinfari. Pinfari was even the original company of choice to build it but their schedules were fully booked and they didnt have time to build a ride for Disney. So instead they contracted it out to Intamin. If you want to see what the Pinfari version looked like the look up "Looping" at Tivoli Karolinelund or "Crazy loop" at Brean theme park.

FINALLY some respect for DLP, in my opinion the best castle park and the second best Disney park!

The vision they had to bring everything from the American parks to Europe in a more beautiful and spectacular way has really paid off. Personally, I would consider Frontierland to be the best land, BigThunder Mountains island and the whole lore around Phantom Manor is just great. Discoveryland is unfortunately no longer quite what the original idea of the area was. Hyperspace Mountain is still a great roller coaster, but the loveless Star Wars theme is simply out of place. It would be nice to see an extra Galaxies Edge, then Discoveryland could be brought back to its former glory.

In the Studios, only Ratatouille and the Tower of Terror are really great.

Disneyland Pairs is defiantly on my bucket list of parks to go and it does sound like an amazing park and yes I think they are really overdue for a new attraction!

I went to Disneyland Paris in 2016, and now seeing this video I feel like I didn't do enough there. I rode Space Mountain (before the Star Wars retheme), Pirates, Phantom Manor, and some of the smaller rides. I also remember there being lots of construction around the BTMR area, and I never really got to see some of those secret passageways you mentioned. Very beautiful park though.

Disneyland Paris is truly amazing! The whole experience was top notch; our hotel had everything, we loved the restaurants, and of course the rides were incredible! Great review btw :)

Hi there, I’m gonna help you with the nighttime shows:
In 2012, Disney Dreams debuted for the 20th anniversary.
In 2017, Disney Illuminations debuted for the 25th anniversary.
In 2023, Disney D-Light debuted for the 30th anniversary. (The first drone show at Disneyland Paris, which is a 10 minutes pre-show)
Later in 2023, Disney Dreams was brought back by popular demand, being part of the Grand Finale of the 30th anniversary.
And recently, Disney Electrical Sky Parade debuted, replacing Disney D-Light.

This park is incredible, it’s just missing that S tier, one of the best in the world level attractions. If it gets that, then I think it might be one of the best parks in the world.

The one thing you have to consider vs tokyo disneyland is food cost. Everything is so much cheaper in tokyo if eating is a big part of your day that counts for a lot of points in the rankings.

I went here in 2011 as a kid and loved this park. I remember being lucky enough to fastpass btm which was the coolest thing as a kid

was insanely crowded when I went a few years ago so I only got a few rides in

but MAN they killed it with the presentation of this park, easily one of the most visually appealing theme parks I’ve been to with so many fun details

the rides are great too tho, the big thunder mountain here is the best one they’ve ever made, pirates is one of the best versions, phantom manor slaps, I wish space mountain wasn’t star wars themed, etc all with a crazy good nighttime show

would love to see them get some new attractions tho altho with the current state of walt disney studios I think that’s probably the higher priority

I visited this park for the first time in early december, and it blew my mind! Imo, it's definitely a better version of Magic Kingdom (except Phantom Manor, I'd take Haunted Mansion over it). Discoveryland and the Pirates lands were the highlights for me!
Idk if I agree with you about the park needing a new coaster, since Big Thunder and Space Mountain is a pretty good top 2 and the park isn't necessarily centered on coasters, I think the park really needs a new dark ride or a simulator. Replacing the Indiana Jones coaster for the EMV dark ride would be the perfect fit imo
