Walt Disney Studios Review | Disney's WORST Theme Park | Paris, France

This is a sad excuse of a theme park. With no immersion, cheap rides, and very little to do here, there's no reason Disney should be charging as much as they do for a one day ticket. Walt would be ashamed...

Something to consider about the old Disney-MGM Studios and Universal Studios Florida, is that when they opened they were actually working film studios, so many of the sound stages were actually in use. When you took a behind the scenes tour, you got to see behind the scenes of actual movies and shows that were being made. Without that authentic aspect, the movie studio theming doesn't do much because it's so bare-bones. But if you know that something cool is being made behind those boring walls, it brings a sense of wonder.

At least you went AFTER they added stuff.

Back when it opened there was no Tower of Terror, no Ratatouille and no Toy Story land.

It was smaller than one LAND in the sister park

To be honest that cars overlay to the tram tour actually looks better than how it used to be, it was embarrassing before (and still is)

I never believed all the negativity about this park until I visited it - it’s just a soul destroying experience. Went in, rode tower and ratatouille, then left never to return. Really is such a disappointment and not worth entry

This was a phase Disney was going through at the time. They built DCA around the same time and had the same issues, as well as the Chester and Hester area at DAK. While they did try to fix DCA, sadly, because nobody really cared about the Disneyland Paris property they have just kept putting off re-doing this park for decades. The Dinoland area is finally on the chopping block. Personally I think DCA being right down the street from the companies HQ where all the execs had to live next to it had a lot to do with that lol.

here's a weird fact about this park: when it first opened it only had 3 rides: rock n' rollercoaster, the magic carpet ride and the studio tour. so weird, isn't it?

RC Racer was planned to be 2 coasters next to each other, but budget cuts...

Disney exec 1: "The Europeans hate Euro Disney! Let's open a second gate to attract more visitors, and do it cheap and quick!"
Disney exec 2: "We'll make a studio park like Disney-MGM Studios which people like now, but do it like California Adventure, which people hate!"
Exec 1: "Brilliant! What could go wrong?!"

I'm so glad OLC said no to hollywood studios theme. originally Disney was trying to make a studios themed park like this one next to Tokyo disneyland but OLC was like no that sounds bad so Disney sea was created.

The first few years of this park were even worse! No ToT, Crush's Coaster, Toy Story or Ratatouille. To be fair though, the shows were always good. Like the original Light Motors Action stunt show and CinéMagique.

I actually prefered what the park was like when it opened to what it is now. At least it felt authentic and really brought you backstage to experience what it was like to shoot a movie. (I actually work on movie sets now in large part thanks to that experience that got me fascinated with movie making)
Now it's just another collection of bland Disney IP rides... Where are the original attractions ?? My two favorite Disney rides are Space Mountain de la Terre à la Lune and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Couldn't give a damn about Marvel, Star Wars or Pixar rides.
Want to know what Disney should be building ? Look at Phantasialand and F.L.Y that ride and area is an absolute masterpiece. Way more beautiful and exciting than anything Disney built in a verrry long time.

Went on a family trip recently with young kids and there was quite a lot for them in this park, but we had a 2 day ticket for both parks so it felt more like a few bonus attractions to do on the second morning rather than anything standalone. Visiting that park alone would be a major disappointment.

Something is very very wrong at Disney as an entire company. They are losing the creativity we know them for :(

As someone who visits DLP every year, this park is like a car accident. I know how horrible it is, yet can't stop looking at it. I have fond memories of the park and don't hate it as much as a lot of other people. The Cars Road Trip ride straight-up feels like a shitpost, yet I love Tower of Terror and Ratatouille.

Disney is in the gutter. Doesn't surprise me at all that the Rock N Roller coaster overlay is terrible, they now decide to build attractions based purely on corporate synergy and not on quality experience.

It's too small, that's the major problem with this hopeless park

The shout out ot Park Asterix at the end; spot on! It's only roughly an hour and a half drive from the Disney parks too. Funny how your thoughts echo exactly what 99% of themepark enthousiasts feel like about this park. It really needs an eye catcher to be put on the map. While the Frozen land will be great for family's and hopefully bring some of that Disney shine I wonder if it'll be enough. And with Avengers Campus setting the current example, I don't think we should get our hopes up.
