My grandmother passed on this year at 99 just shy away from 100 years. She was in Malawi. At 99 she was doing everything by herself, living in her own house, attending to her own needs like bathing, feeding etc.

Her eyesight was good, memory sharp and hearing not too bad. She never used hearing aids but one had to speak louder around her especially in the last five years but could hold a conversation.

Since I have known her, she only had one proper meal ( lunch) and in the evening she would have a cup of tea.

She worked ( farming and was an entrepreneur all her life building small houses for rent until her dying day, guess this helped her as well).

When I turned 50 I decided to change my life mostly through spirituality and better diet and it’s working. I’m 56 now and by cutting out sugars and processed foods and eating whole grains and meditating and giving gratitude to the universe, all of my previous ailments went away and I feel better now than any other time in my adult life.

As humans we have certain species specific needs:
- Community
- Daily sufficient movement (lots of walking and some cardiovascular and strength training)
- Being outdoors (sunshine and connecting to the earth through our skin)
- Circadian rhythm (rising with sun; going to bed after sunset)
- Proper nutrition (locally grown organic foods and high quality animal foods such as red meat, organs, unpasteurised milk and cheese)
- A meaningful existence (something to live for other than yourself; giving to others; gratitude)
- Proper sleep

Its a simple but not so easy recipe in today's world.

I am 55, have been following Dr. Weil since I was about 30....He has been a treasure to me, and following his advice has added such benefit to my life. He is a true lifelong student and amazing teacher. I believe all doctors should strive to follow his example, and the rest of us should expect this type of care.

I have healed many things with my mind and spirituality. I have super high inflammation in my body and now have zero. I did reduce sugar and started to eat better. I used no medications . I have had severe pain and worked with it with the mind with no meds. I am glad to hear others believe this.

Dr Weil is one of my early educators in wholistic health. By reading whatever I could find written or suggested by him, (starting with 8 weeks to optimal health over 20 years ago) I learned to read labels, buy organic (especially the dirty dozen), grow more of my own vegetables and to expand my connection with everything and everyone from the inside out as a natural integrated being. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for him and seeing him in this interview gives me such joy. Thank you!!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

He is an amazing doctor. I started reading his books years ago. It is all integrated: mind body spirit. I so wish there was a national registry of health and healing. We seem to have it backwards in our "healthcare " system. Not one doctor ever asked me what I was eating or drinking. How can doctors go through medical school and not be well versed in nutrition. Thank you Dr. Weil for your contributions all of these years. ❤

79?😳?!?! He really does have an amazing youthfulness about him. The light in his eyes, his voice that sounds like that of a 30yr old, just the general way he carries himself.

Dr. Weill is a marvel. He is the first person whose work I read about nutrition. It’s been a lifelong interest ever since.

In my career in nursing Intensive care 25 years, long term care 4, hospice 9, used what my nursing instructor said
“Ask a patient in pain, are you ready to be pain free? touching patents arm gently. Do deep breathing in through nose
out through mouth completely. “
Miraculously most were pain free and no meds needed. Many dozed off and slept, awakening relaxed and refreshed.

The body has healing potential but folks must be patient with it. Takes time to heal.
