So tip for people who don't know, there's currently an odd interaction for some flying mounts. Specifically mounts that "land" i.e. their feet touch the ground. The problem is that if you are flying over hazard terrain like lava, the game will treat it like you walked over it directly causing heavy damage to your character. Mounts that are always flying like Helzephyr or Vanawrym don't have this effect occur.

Do consider this when picking a flying mount in these areas.

You mentioned Helzephyr having "unique effect" that turns players attacks to dark, but there are also other pals that provide the same type of effect: Frostallion (ice), Ragnahawk (fire) and few other pals provide other elemental damage types to your attacks while mounted.

These pals can make a huge difference to your damage output especially when fighting the legendaries.

Against for example Jetdragon using rocket launcher (rare), I deal 260-280 damage per shot while on foot, and 660-760 damage per shot while riding Frostallion with level 4 "Ice steed" skill to deal ice damage. Weak point shots against Jetdragon while riding Frostallion did up to 1100 damage per shot.

It’s so relieving to see a game as enjoyable and relaxing as Palworld finally take the stage as the next big thing! I love making content on it!

One you missed was Ragnahawk which is flying (and quite fast), applies fire damage to your attacks, and is small enough to fit through dungeon caves

I went nighthawk, then got a vanwyrm with swift. He lasted me til a couple hours ago when i finally bred a faleris with runner, swift, and nimble lol. That'll surely last til Jeteagon!

Jetragon is a legendary, so it might be easier to get mounts like frostallion….. uhhh…

Talking about movement Pals there is literally no better Pal in the game than a maxed out Galeclaw. The utility is just amazing, upgrading the partner skill both increases movement speed as well as decreases descending speed and stamina drain meaning you can cross massive areas with little to no drop in altitude whilst maintaining honestly about the speed of a Jetragon.

You can also use this whilst swimming since you can jump in water in this game.

Oh and of course the ability to shoot your weapons without having to sacrifice speed meaning you can glide to dodge an attack and also shoot as you're dodging.

An early game alternative for Wumpo is the pink cat you find in the starting areas whose name escapes me. Their passive partner skill lets you carry more, which is helpful. I also suggest Rushoar for early game mining, as one; it can be used to break even ore when you ride it(it can't do it passively but charging into things lets you mine better) and two, because it only knows mining it'll keep doing that rather than get distracted with other jobs.

Don't underestimate specialists, they're your backbone while you build up to better.

If your gonna use a mount for manual mining i highly recommend filling up rhe rest of you party with pals that increase carry weight such as Cattiva or lunaris or wumpo.

Univolt is my pick for ground mount. It can fit through all the dungeon rooms and it has stab on it's lightning attacks which are very good at killing raids before they get to your base and getting first strike damage on whatever you are fighting. It is also great at one shotting groups of gobfins with it's fast recharge aoe which is much faster than going on foot with something else. Also because you will get flyers that work well pretty quickly(relatively) there isn't as much importance on a purely mobile mount.

"Helzephyr increases your damage a small amount"
Understatement of the year. While mounted it converts all your damage to Dark type and gives you & itself a 50% attack boost, or up to 100% if it's condensed to 4 stars.

For ground mounts, I'd also mention Rayhound. Based purely on speed, he's the fastest non-legendary ground mount that has a double jump. Even if his double jump isn't as high a Fenglope's. Also, Necromus. Same as Paladius he has a triple jump, and has the fastest sprinting speed among every ground mount. Which is at 1600, making it almost as fast as Jetragon's normal movement speed.
For flying, I'd also throw in Faleris for the mix, as he's the fastest non-legendary mount in the game. Heck, he's the same speed as Frostalion, and faster than Paladius and Necromus if we count normal movement speed and not sprint speed. Also has the same work suitabilities as Ragnahawk. Only issue with it, is that it looks like an egyptian thanksgiving turkey.
Similarly to Kitsun, if you have trouble getting one, you can try Arsox. Arsox only works against cold, and not against extreme heat, but he's a nice alternative for that.

So yeah, do get yourself a Faleris. It'll work untl you can catch a legendary flying mount, like Jetragon or Frostalion. Also Rayhound can be a nice alternative I'd say is on par with Fenglope, having the edge in pure speed, while falling behind in jump height. I use both personally, and until leveling up a bit more to get the option for the tech upgrade of a Frostallion Noct saddle, considering I bred a rather damn fast one, I'll be using these.
I might just go and catch myself a few Fenglopes and breed a racing one out of those too. While they're sadly not electric, so I'd have to use a skill fruit to teach them Shockwave, for farming the Gobfins en masse without having to waste ammo on them, the jump height increase might be worth it.

I've been rocking Fenglope for a long time and even with a Felaris with Swift, I prefer the Fenglope. I have Swift and Runner on it and it is just faster at getting around. It also performs very well in fights as it's base movement speed is enough to dodge so many attacks from bosses. It's my go to mount for the game right now and I am level 47. I've pumped lots of souls in this guy and bred one with Swift, Runner, Ferocious, and Burly. He's a beast and I rarely ever lose him. Jumping over boss attacks and abilities is supremely satisfying and you can pump him with the different skill fruits to cover any combination you would like. Fenglope FTW.

1)Direhowl is a better starter land mount than the deer because its way faster.
2)By the time you get to farm a Fenglope you might as well just get a Pyrin instead. Its faster and will provide Fire damage. Alternatively you can get a Rayhound because it sprints faster while also having a double jump.
3)Using mounts for logging/mining or temperature regulation is a waste of time since you can easily find alternatives for both tasks that won't waste a pal slot.

rayhound should get an honorable mention. not as floaty as fenglope but ur on an electric wolf. plenty of zoom while lookin mean

Sure its already been said but you can breed so many of these very very early and simply then its just getting to their saddles i bred out a team of Grizzbolts and Relaxasaurus for my teamates while they did their own things, really helps

... Uh... You seriously picked both Helzephyr and Vanwyrm over Faleris? Who has MORE stamina and speed than both? And is pretty easy to get as well? You only need a Vanwyrm, a Univolt and a Kingpaca. Breed Univolt and Kingpaca to get Anubis, then breed Anubis with Vanwyrm and bam, best non-dragon flyer in the game. Throw some Swift on there and some battle skills and you've got my go-to mount so far!

Kitsun is also easy to get by breeding a Nitewing and a Daedream together.

I usually like this channels videos but this video sucks lol. These are not good tips at all. Faleris is not even hard to get and is way faster and has a ton more stamina than helzephr and vanwyrm lol. This video is honestly a joke lol

Everyone talks about the ground mounts and flying mounts in these, yet next to no one mentions the glider pals, like Galeclaw is amazing just to have in your party.
