Uninsured Motorist Coverage - Why It's Important in Florida

Florida is one of the states that does not require owners or drivers of vehicles to carry bodily injury liability coverage that would protect those who are injured in auto accidents. Because of this, it is very important to be aware of the idea and to carry uninsured motorist coverage. Unlike the majority of states, Florida does nor require auto owners or operators to have bodily injury liability coverage. Now bodily injury liability coverage is the type of auto insurance coverage that pays for injuries to other people who are injured by a driver's negligence. And so this is why the uninsured motorist coverage is so important. Worse yet, recent statistics show that Florida has the Nation's highest percentage of uninsured drivers. It's estimated in recent statistics that approximately 27 percent of those who are driving in Florida are uninsured. This was my legit question being new to Florida. You failed to mention the only important factor, health insurance. Why would I pay for more health insurance that only covers auto accidents. How do the insurance companies interact with each other or cause me headaches after an accident.

In Florida, people are required to have personal injury protection. That will cover one's bodily injuries in an accident no matter who is at fault. Furthermore, Medicare and most private insurance will cover any emergency and long term care that PIP didnt cover. So, why would I need a third layer of protection for my bodily injuries in an accident? UM serms clearly redundant under these pretenses.
