Employing Satellite Earth Observation Technologies: How to Start a Start-up

The GGSA is excited to present the Lunch and Learn series again for GEG students! This is a great opportunity for students to get to know professors in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics and learn about the different types of research being carried out within the Department.

This year, Dr. Daniel Spitzer will be presenting his research. He is the founder of A-MAPS Environmental Inc., a consulting firm dealing with mapping and monitoring of environmental processes, using Remote Sensing, GIS and hardware/software developed by his company. Before he became an adjunct professor at uOttawa earlier this year, Dr. Spitzer has been an adjunct professor at the University of Windsor since 2016. Upon his retirement, Dr. Spitzer is interested in collaborating with students and helping them achieve academic goals.
