HiRISE Mars 4K (NASA): These Things Take Time

Показать описание
Located near the central uplift of an ancient impact crater in this observation are formations known as “transverse aeolian ridges” (TAR; “aeolian” refers to wind-blown). These are visually bright and may represent some intermediate form with characteristics of both ripples and dunes. While they are widespread on Mars, the formation, age and composition of TAR are not completely understood.
