This guy seems to forget about insurance costs in everywhere but where he lives

I have a 58 plate corsa vxr that I have now owned for over 3 years. Bought on 64k and it’s now on 105k. Engine hasn’t skipped a beat because I’ve looked after it. Gearbox needed new bearings but didn’t break the bank at all and it’s been sweet for 25k miles. I would recommend buying one if you’re going to keep it at stock power level but wouldn’t recommend if not. If you look after the car, it’ll look after you. The people that usually buy these don’t look after them and are young lads with no mechanical sympathy, that’s why they have the rep they do.

All is good until cylinder number 4 introduces itself to the rest of your engine bay

I’m 19 and got quoted £4500 for insurance, where as an i30n is £950. Do some research before doing these videos

I’ve had mine for nearly 3 years now a 2009 pretty much standard and had piston issue had this forged and put to stage 3 and never skipped a beat and had been the most reliable car I’ve had, would track it, take it to Santa pod and yet could drive 10 hours straight no issues at all, currently being built to 330 bhp having the correct work done by machining head, supertech valves, valve guides, valve springs as well as piper cams and K04 turbo, as well as having the gearbox upgraded with bigger bearings and having the brembos put on from the Nurburgring edition 👌 you want it to last do it properly don’t cheap out because then it will fall apart like everyone else’s 👍, track this car a lot and never causes me issues and can daily it with 31 mpg, regular serving (3-5k miles) using good parts and oils will keep it running and make sure it warmed up probably and cooled down 👍

owned my corsa vxr for about 3 years now, stage 2 running 220, cant go wrong with it. never had any issues, all this piston 4 bollocks puts people off, if you maintain it like a normal human being like any other car, it will be fine. mine isnt forged either.

Had one of these a year ago, awesome little cars! Night and day to drive compared to a normal VXR

154K subscribers yet only 7K-8K views on vids. Houston we have a problem...

I love my VXR but I've been driving for over thirty years and know to take it easy with something that kick outs 205BHP through the front wheels. I think for someone who's new to driving yes they're an awesome car but that power difference between your average corsa that your driving instructor probably has and the VXR Nurburgring is night and day. You'd probably struggle to insure one of these anyway as a new driver but if you can and you get your hands on one take the time to get used to the handling of the car as it's probably unlike anything you'll have driven before as a young driver. Drive safe guys, I just love my VXR Nurburgring and wouldn't drive any thing else after owning one.

I’m 19, got myself 2 years no claims after having a lisence for 1 1/2 years, getting one of these next month and my insurance quote is £850 no box, fully comp so they’re actually not bad for young drivers at all I’d say

Previous owner of a Corsa VXR for 4 years. If you plan on modifying the car YOU SHOULD NOT BUY ONE. They are built incredibly cheap and fall to bits after adding power to them. Had nothing but problems and spend thousands to achieve what most cars do with a stage 1. Would never recommend one to anyone and would say buy a Fiesta ST, which is what I now have and is miles ahead.

Had mine a year now, Courtney stage 2, 221 BHP 340 NM torque, service her every 4k, look after it and it will be ok.

The front end with the grey paint on the grill, the bits either side of the reg and fog surrounds, are not factory. This has been done by an owner. The Burgs and Clubsports (the latter came out after the burg as an end of line vxr before the corsa e came out, is essentially a burg but comes with a remus backbox and a couple of extra interior differences and different colour wheels and mirrors) all come with half leather interior (as per this video), full heated leather is a factory option. I have a clubsport with every option box ticked (incl the heated leather), not a bad motor if driven with respect. I compression test it every 6 months, all is good so far, or have I spoke too soon haha

I got one for a laugh and so far it's cost me near 2k to keep running but the engine still has 180psi across all cylinders. I work in Germany and I have hit an indicated 142mph. Cars not stock and very well looked after and I think it's a right laugh and looks awesome in green. Don't buy one if you have shallow pockets as they are thirsty. Mines sits between 22-25mpg. Regular services are essential...

Had my Corsa for 2.5 years great little car had it forged for peace of mind when I first brought it and now it’s running just shy of 300bhp I did a crap little video recently of the things to look out for with these if anyone is thinking of buying one 👍🏻

As someone who lives in London, my cheapest insurance quote for one of these after passing my test was £10, 499 for the year.... an Astra VXR was £16, 999, and a Renaultsport Clio was £22, 999 a year for me to insure... this is no joke, and yes I live in a high risk area😂

running 300bhp, gets absolutely hammered daily. Gearbox is mint and the engine is mint as its forged.

After getting 1 years no claims I’m still over £2k to insure a vxr which works out £270 a month
