Climate change melting glaciers in north Pakistan

Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region has more glaciers than anywhere else outside the Arctic and Antarctica. For centuries, they have been a major source of fresh water while maintaining the ecosystem. But climate change is now taking its toll. Kamran Yousaf travelled to the region to witness the impact.

One of the very reason of this rapid change is indian project of small and large dams which has brought this destruction and it would cause unprecedented damage to the environment of the world. In winter it gets colder, sometimes very cold and rainy 🥶 then later in summer it gets warmer, sometimes very hot, humid or dry 🔥.

The Karakoram anomaly has ended meaning glaciers are now behaving in sync with the glaciers of the world. ICIMOD. The glaciers of Kunlun are more stable as compared to the adjacent Karakoram glaciers.

It means that fresh water will be reduced, meaning less water for crops and drinking. Also meaning war for water.

Pakistan has only 11% Snowy area(in winters), which is now melting due to climate change. Meanwhile 25% of India gets great amount of Snow but climate change has 0.001% impact on this 😢. Please stop polluting the environment.
