Hey I got 2 12” skar subs with a 1200 amp and after I play them for a while with the gain up they start to clip and get distorted. They sound good for a while but after playing them for a while not so good. Does this mean I need a more powerful amp or did I damage my subs?

I plan on getting new door speakers also, there are door speakers in the front and back seat of my car. I have a box with 2 subs in it. So how many channels do I need my amp to have?
