Rats, possums have no chance against a Jack Russell, these dogs are swift and agile. Snakes too, a pure Jack Russell hates snakes. Jack Russell are used professionally to catch and kill farm pest like gophers. If you own horses, gophers create holes that a horse can break it's leg from if it steps into a gopher hole by accident as well as ruin crops. A Jack Russell is an affectionate and extremely loyal dog. The Jack Russell is a total bad-ass, this dog will go up against a grizzly bear with complete fearlessness. Love, Love, Love this little dog! These dogs are a treasure.

A Jack Russell is far better than a cat with the rodent population, far better! I have three Jack Russell, I speak from experience. The Jack Russell is THE American working terrier! A big dog in a little dog body, an amazing athlete, hunter and sentinel. Love the Jack Russell!!!

Lol, so relatable. When my JR cross was under 2 months old he caught and ate a bird - on our bed!!
I squealed while disposing of the body, I think that impacted the dog since he now only chases the birds. :) Didn't want to get angry, he was following instinct but he picked up on my not being happy about it.

One day we came upon a quail as we walked and right away you could see the quail had a busted wing and couldn't get off the ground.

It was the 2nd day straight my 9 yro Jack & I happened upon the very same wounded bird as we walked.

This time we were at a place I could let my Jack run free for the most part and he was just pulling on his leash like a bulldozer.

Anyway, my 22 lb Jack put down the bird in less than 60 sec I'm certain. Head shake killed the thing almost instantly.

I thought I had adopted such a nice boy 🤣

Thanks & thanks for the videos.

Lol Lina is a doll!! I have two Jack Russell's and they refuse to mess with a mouse... I was hoping since we live in the country that would happen... nope. Anyway however even at 16 and 14 they still hunt and kill possum and unfortunately one time killed a stray cat 😢. My female (Jessie) is the 16 yr old and honestly the toughest of the two Farlie is her little male cheerleader 😂

My Jack Russell Terrier cross killed a snake the other day, it was over in seconds. Brisbane Australia has extremely venomous snakes, Scooter was lucky this time it's a worry. Like your videos.

I've had two Parsons Jack Russell in the last 25 years and they're on lead in the back and every year come spring after the snow melts I usually end up picking up 3, 4, or 5 squirrels the only other dog I've seen as fast as a jack is a whippet but you can't hold it against the jack is hunting instincts have not been bred out of them the 100% intact.

My Jack Russell has killed mice, rabbits, moles and chipmunks. But once they stop squeaking and moving he picks them up and puts them back into whatever hole he dug them out of

My little dog, Linus, is a Jackhuahua (Jack Russell/Terrier mix). Although he has yet to catch a mouse, squirrel, etc., I can clearly see that if given the opportunity, he would most probably catch and kill this type of creature. I know that ratters kill their prey by shaking and slamming their catch violently to death. My boy loves to grab his stuffed animals and shake them violently.

I brought Lenny home at 8 weeks and she killed her first mouse after 2 days. Never had a mouse since.

My Bull Arab X caught a pigeon as it took flight, refused to release it, chomped it a coupla times and swallowed it whole. He threw up the feathers next day.
Jack Russells he takes longer to eat...

Yes, I haven’t seen any rodent in years. My Jack Russell had killed a snake and was trying to bring it into the house.😅
