Good for you! Always be prepared to walk, stick to your guns, intimidation tactics from dealerships is real. Also, that ploy they use about “talking to the manager”; it is just a ploy. Another tactic they use to make you think they are willing to work with you. Dealerships WANT to get rid of their stock, they don’t make money on cars just sitting on the lot. I’m a 65 yr old woman, I’ve learned a lot in those years about buying a car, new and used. Congratulations on your successful purchase! ❤😊

Okay but why are you making this a contender for me when it is way out of my range and not even something/a brand that was ever on my radar? My dream car has been the Mazda CX5 for years but recently, the Chevy Trax or Kia Seltos. The ONLY saving grace for me is that I don't want a car this big. I want a crossover that is still easy to park, I just want the trunk space and foldable backseats. When you have to move, you learn real quick how valuable car space is! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As for me, I been busy lately as my Dad had cataracts removed from both of his eyes, right eye last Thursday & his left one just 2 days ago on Tuesday! I'm temporary doing his regular routine like mowing the lawn & taking him where he needs to go as driving is out of the question for him until he can fully see again! My Mom is taking care of putting drops in his eyes 4 times a day until the 14 day period is up, well, with the help of myself too, of course! Mom had to go through that earlier this year when she had to get the cataracts removed from her eyes too! It wasn't pretty but if she followed orders the doctor give her after having them done, so can Dad! 😊❤

In 2005 I started shopping for a car. I love Hyundai's. It would be my 3rd one. About 4 months in I found a 2004 black Elantra (both cars previously were Elantras.) I was in love. It had everything I wanted. I drove it 3 days in a row just to make sure. When it came down to starting the paperwork, we got the financing and I was about to sign when the salesman was called away. He said they had miss priced it and it was going to be 6000.00 more. I was so mad and said no because that was BS and it would make my payments higher. I was literally crying when I started walking out. The salesman caught up to me and said he had other cars that I might like. So he showed me 2 other cars (not Hyundai) By this time I am so pissed. I actually asked him if he was stupid. I want a Hyundai. At that point the sales manager comes out and says they have another Hyundai Elantra on their other lot. I didn't want to work with the first salesman anymore. So the manager takes me over and shows me a beautiful silver 2004 Elantra. The only thing that was missing was the stereo system. It is also a manual trans. ( I know how to drive a manual so that didn't bother me.) They gave me the price which was actually 2000.00 less. I told them if they took off another 1500.00 so I could get the stereo system that we would have a deal. They said no at first and I asked to be driven back to my car. Not sure who he talked to but he came back and said they would reduce the price. My payments were less than the black one would have been. I loved the car.. actually still do. I still have the car and in Jan 2024 it will be 20 years. If I need to get another one at some point (I don't drive a lot with my health issues) it will def be a Hyundai Elantra.
