The best tips to gain apm (the good kind, not just spam) for beginners, helped me a lot

Use Hotkeys, don't click

Instead of F2, have army groups. Start with only one, which acts like F2, but gets you used to the different hotkeys and constantly adding units to groups

Use camera locations

Macro with hotkeys while looking at other parts if the map (build workers or other units)

Queue runbys without looking at then (you spend your apm for more important tasks than 10 zealots or 20 lings)
