I don't think Russian elite cares about the losses

As long as the top of Russia remains there will be no end to the war, they themselves are high and dry and have enough of everything to live without worries and the population is just kept so stupid and does not know any better.
A large part of the population even thinks that Ukraine started the war.
If you watch and listen to captured Russian soldiers who are interviewed, they tell such nonsense about why they invaded Ukraine that you simply cannot understand how they think.

A man from russia once said "a single death is a tragedy, but a million is a statistic". It's horrible how true that is, and that its still true to this day

The casualties aren't bothering them.

What might bother them is that Ukraine appears to be gradually gaining the ability to direct long range strategic attacks deep into Russian territory. And Russia cannot stop this unless it either dramatically improves its air defense or it gets Ukraine to voluntarily stop. Or conquers the entire nation.

Option 1 is unlikely (they've been trying to do this the entire war.
Option 2 is impossible because Russia has made the only conditions for peace ones that Ukraine knows will ultimately result in another war that Ukraine is even less likely to prevail in
Option 3 is a pipe dream for the same reason as option 2. Ukraine cannot afford to surrender and is far more likely to fight to the bitter end rather than collapse and surrender. Surrender means the end of their nation.

Time to face facts!! In 1994, Ukraine agreed to transfer its nuclear arsenal to Russia and became a party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of nuclear weapons, in exchange for assurances from Russia, the United States and United Kingdom to respect the Ukrainian independence and the sovereignty of its existing borders. But since those assurances have been broken by Russia and the US has refused to provide effective use of its weaponry by Ukraine to protect its borders, does Ukraine now have every legal right to obtain its own nuclear weapons to protect its borders???

Perhaps Russia should just consider demilitarizing and denuclearizing itself rather than doing so to other countries. Post-Soviet Russia never was a world power since the Soviet Union fell in 1991. It’s nowhere near the statuses its predecessors had long ago.

These volunteers are not being paid anywhere near what they are told. Who is going to prosecute the state, the soldiers are from a poor background and so are their family in Russia. I doubt any soldier gets more than 50% of what their "contract" promises.
Also the soldiers have to subsidise their equipment with their own funds.😳

As the war in Ukraine drags on, Russia becomes more and more vulnerable to invasion by China, who could win easily territories with great economical potentials and no political downside. It is difficult to understand how long China can resist such opportunities. This is much better than invading Taiwan.

Afghanistan wasn't a big enough "Vietnam" for Russia. Maybe Ukraine will be.

The Russian "death metric" will never be accurately "tracked", not when Russian combat fatalities are not recorded as "KIA", Troop fatalities are recorded as "MIA", "Missing in Action", which is also the reason why neither the Troops, nor their Families will ever see the promised money, if there is no record of the Soldier actually dying in combat, but he's recorded as "missing", there is no

A major problem not talked about in this report is the Russian losses of modern armored vehicles - these and trained personel are in short supply.
