Im looking into buying one of these cars.
So i started creating both at the BMW and Mercedes sites. With the options that i wanted

Mercedes a45 AMG:
1. 81298$ Stuff that i really wanted.
2. 75583$ price without the carbon fiber package and sport seats.

BMW M135 (3 door)
1. 67750$ With nearly all possible options:p
2. 68020$ and i added the BMW M performance rims i think they are 19" or 20"


Keep in mind! (Price is swedish cause its where i live)
I chose the stuff on these cars based on how i would like it to look.
I chose the BMW in 3 door cause i prefer 3 door hatchback Not cause its less expensiv.
I also like my BMW RWD!

I did test both cars.
I felt more at home inside the BMW
The AMG a45 is something special but for that price it fucking has to be!!!
IMO the bmw feels stronger and lighter but i think its the 3l 6cyl engine that dose that.
Every one that says the a45 has a ugly sound go try it and come back and tell me its ugly.

Instead of keep going with all this bullcrap ill just tell you
I chose the M135 price matters for me. If i had money or rich parents id take the AMG a 45 or CLA 45 or even GLA 45
But the price for a car that you wont have longer than 3 years.

Both did put a huge :D on my face when i drove them and my friend really liked the AMG but he said the same as i did there was no big diffrence between them excpet the price.

I hope AMG and BMW keeps making these lovely beasts

that was close ! the .3 sec difference doesn't justify the 40 kilos/40 horses advantage for the Merc though !

The A45's engine is made for this kind of drag with a high rpm/high boost turbo. The M135 makes peak horsepower ~6000rpm so high rpm is not its strong side (sadly). Try a 5th gear pull from 1500rpm and see the M135i walk away.

I love BMW and im not a merc fan but they pulled through in this one. The M135 isnt a true M, its just a tweaked 135 its not a true M engine born from the factory only for performance

A45 FTW! i love mercedes benz! but to be fair i guess the A45 should be compared with an M1 not a 135! (or an M2) when it is released ;)

truth is, we all have opinions. The Merc imo is more special interms of differentiating itself from the normal A class. It is also the faster and sharper car. However, the BMW to me sounds better, looks better, is way cheaper. Sorry to bring it up again but it is also not an M car. The 1M coupe doesn't have a direct replacement maybe the M2 or something will have to do....but in that doubt the A45 will be as good.

Love both cars, but I personally like the m135i better

The A45 sounds pathetic compared to the M135i. I guess that's what two additional cylinders and an extra liter of displacement will do for you.

Drove the A45 over a weekend as a garage replacement car and wasn't too impressed. It is a small engine highly turbo-charged and you have to squeeze it wherever you go to extract power. Which makes it somewhat embarrassing to drive with all the noise etc. Unfortunately the 1 series fell completely out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on its way. It is surely the more composed car here and you will stick to the AMG's tail at all times on the Autobahn. And i am saying this as an AMG driver and lover. The A45 is quite a failure in real life but surely the wet dream of young fellows dreaming of their first car.

amg is top of a range from merc, so compare amg to M (a45 vs M1) ....

I'd take the BMW because it's also a good car for long distances because it's sporty AND comfortable. But I also like the A45. If I had the money, I'd take both of them.
