2023 Mazda 6 Touring Review – You Don't Need An SUV | #Review

The SUV has become ubiquitous in city streets across Malaysia, utilised by families who really don't need the raised driving position but enjoy the sense of superiority over other road users. The excuse is practicality, but if that was really the case, why has the estate car or wagon bodystyle fallen by the wayside?

Mazda has emerged as one of very few carmakers in Malaysia who maintain an offering of an 'extended' saloon, and the Mazda 6 Touring has been updated once again for the 2024 model year. With a comprehensive suite of active safety kit (finally) alongside the already refined presentation, we spend a week with the Mazda 6 Touring to understand why exactly the SUV is unnecessary.

Great review as always. I got the saloon early of this year and been so happy with it. Back then the price was still at 21x ish. Considering what I get in return with 5 years Free Service & Warranty, it's a great value. It's just so special and you're right, it's rare. Makes it even more special.

Great review - as a Mazda6 touring owner I completely agree - it's a very nice car to drive.
I think the petrols are a bit down on power. My 2017 2.2 diesel (220 bhp / 500 nm) runs perfectly, both on motorway and B-roads.
I just got wireless Android Auto from an easy-to-install adapter, so infotainment feels more modern now - I rarely use the original mzd-connect software, but the mzd-dial + buttons are perfect. No fumbling around with touch-screen. Great !

as mazda owner, i do agree 99.5% with aiman... another 0.5% is the car is eye-catching design .. for me, the great exterior design, combine with modern minimalist elegant design on the interior plus with great handling, good power..

SUV with AWD. Space, and still survive during flash flood. On a practical note, unless you do east west highway to use the driving dynamics, traffic jams will be a problem. Then visibility is also a problem when you everyone around you is using a SUV.
