I have NO idea how you waited two weeks. I got my Holbeins about a month ago and the box was opened literally from my porch at delivery to my art studio, like 10 ft. I began swatching within moments of having them in my hand. I LOVE these pencils.

Hi Lea, I was saving for these when you released this video. I finally got to my savings goal and worked up the nerve to use Buyee. I didn't save myself all that much (maybe $40.00, but it all adds up). Mine arrived early this week and I stayed up to swatch some last night, I've only done the first tray but I'm in love with them already. Thanks for your review!

Yeah I've see the 12 set of pastels EVERY time I go on Amazon Japan! 3:51 Stop being responsible and rip them ope-I mean That's nice! 4:14 YES!!! The Color. :D Oh the ribbon is so cute and handy! All those greens are so Pretty! The whole tray is pretty but I love Teal/Turquoise! 5:00 Probably the tray that will get used the most 5:20 No It Won't O_O WOW! That tray is the Colorist's version of Willy Wonka's Factory Garden!! The COLORS!! SQUEAL!! Hahahaha Thier Gorgeous!! And I'm usually not the biggest pastel person (some look washed out or to chalky) but these are just Beautiful! Neons? Cool! I love color swatching. Some people hate it but it's getting to know one's new pencils. And it's one of the best ways to start learning all the colors! Ah that was Great! So glad you got them! Thanks for sharing the unboxing with us! It was so much Fun! :D

These pencils should have come in a gold plated box. They are ridiculously expensive. Also how do they compare to Polychromos in terms of lightfast

How does the meltz compare to using something like gamsol or odorless mineral spirits?

Hi, I have found these on Ebay and after seeing your review, I am so tempted! Your review is so complete and I appreciate the work that went into this. I am in the USA and a set of these is available only via the cost is over $325 w/free shipping "if, " you are lucky or up to $400 USA, if you are not. That's a lot! So, how does this compare to your cost via Amazon.jp. I'm struggling because I own the watercolors and they are stunning, so I'm thinking that these must be lovely, too. I have read and you said, that they are a cross between oil and wax binder and feel like a cross between Prismacolor and Polychromos. What do you think? I may be wrong but it appears that you have a like and patient hand rather than a heavy hand when you work. This "hand, " is important to me as mine is quite light and pressing harder is uncomfortable for me. Usually, I make my own choices after trying things out. That isn't an option here and you are obviously a thorough consumer advocate. Thank you. I know this is exceptionally long but I believe you're my best resource. Thank's again. It's challenging to decide if they are worth the extra money and effort.
