I worked for a municipality (430, 000 people - Wichita KS) for over 20 years and know that you will have to be willing to stand on a few throats to get any satisfaction from a city. They will want to low ball you over every little thing and when you get some small concession from them they will act as though the city did you a huger favor. Bless you and stay on them!

Saw the devastation in person on Monday, it was unbelievable to see the damage caused by water. You’re a smart guy Ted, you’ll get through this. At least the bike collection and inventory was undamaged.

So so sorry Ted. Had to deal with a ruptured toilet supply hose at my moms years ago. By the time I got there the basement was knee deep. What a mess. Never want to go through that again. Good luck!!

I’m so sorry Ted 😢😢😢. The water companies insurance will have to pay, but how much is the 💰💰💰 question. Hopefully you won’t need to get lawyers involved. The only silver lining is nobody got hurt. Everything can be repaired or replaced except you! Hope things move along quickly for you 👍👍

I'm sorry that this happened to you and your employees and your business. I'm no insurance estimator but I would say over all damages are well up to abouts 500k to get it back to the original condition. IMO I wouldn't let them do anything less then you you deserve. If not your business could take a loss in damages not caused by you. You are a very smart business man for sure, I wish you the very best in recovery and dealing with that massive headache. I sure hope the municipality takes responsibility and helps with the recovery cost! This is a perfect example of the cost of doing business! Cost that you would never imagine would ever come into play! A DAMN WATER MAIN RUPTURE! Who would even think about that? Homeowners have no clue about the risks that are involve in business when they complain about repair cost! Tomorrow is always another opportunity for a better day!
