Right after the 2004 Tsunami, I studied a lot about it at school. I jumped to a conclusion it is usually started with a big earthquake. Then 2 years later, with what I thought a small earthquake, a tsunami hit another part of my country. It was my hometown. The news said it was 3 M's height, but sand thrown high up to coconut trees top.

I hope I'll do someone a favor. Four activities that can trigger a tsunami are volcanic eruptions, landslides, meteorites, and most commonly, earthquakes. The Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004 in Sri Lanka was believed to be the deadliest tsunami. The tsunami warning centers monitor underwater earthquakes that are strong enough to possibly trigger massive waves.
