Exactly! It’s not that we mind paying for the first date. It’s how the girl reacts to it. If she says “Thank you” or offers to split the check, she is a keeper because she has proven that she will be appreciative of whatever her man does for her. If she says nothing and acts like she was owed a free meal, then she can take a hike. We are looking for a partner, not an entitled parasite.

8 years later, and although i have learned to expect my husband to pay, as he always insists, i never not thank him. Even my kids thank him while leaving th3 grocery checkout. Always be grateful to someone because it encourages them to work hard and feel proud of their effort.

Who ever initiates the date is the one that has to pay always. It doesn’t matter what the gender is.

Whatever the situation is, whoever is the one that asked is the one that has to pay because you are paying for the persons time.

If your the one doing the asking, expect to be doing the paying that goes for women too.

If you’re a woman, don’t ask a guy out on a date and expect him to pay. If you ask him out, you still have to pay because you’re paying for his time.

If you do not want to pay for a date then do not ask someone out. You are paying for their time.

If you do not want to pay then leave her/him alone and keep your money to yourself simple.

Why should someone have to pay for a date when you’re the one that asked them out?

That makes no sense.

If the person you asked out offers to pay or offers to pay for their own individual meal, then that’s fine.

But it should not be expected.

Whether you’re a male or female, if you initiate the date and you’re asking someone out, you are the one responsible for paying.
