Fun fact: Mike Judge confirmed in an interview that Dale didn't scream after having his finger severed from pain or even from the horror of the bodily mutilation. He screamed because he was physically seperated from his source of tobacco smoke.

Now I may be wrong, but judging by the infamous “Pocket Sand” scene. As well as the fact that he can lift a 200+ pound sewer lid with ease, I believe that it’s quite possible that Dale has the strength to crush a rock into sand with his bare hands. Which he can then store in his pockets, leaving him with an infinite amount of pocket sand to temporarily blind his enemies. Which could be crucial in a serious battle, so I believe that could add an extra .5% to Dale’s total power.

I love this. Most breakdowns of dale either discuss how sad of a character he is or try to defend that he's not THAT sad of a character. I think you tapped into a more logical reality.
