Blackboard Paint - Chalkboard Paint

If you want to make a chalkboard out of almost any surface, you can purchase a chalkboard paint.
The paint comes in a liquid and spray version. I like the finish and quality of the liquid paint. You can apply it with a roller or brush. We have used it in retail stores to make chalkboard end caps.

Chalkboard paint is great for kids. You can cover a small table and it makes a nice art table that cleans up with a wet cloth. It is also fun on doors or sections of a wall.
If you prime the surface you are painting with the blackboard paint, you will get better coverage. Cover with 2 or 3 coats and let dry for at least 3 days before you use it. Use the edge of a piece of chalk to cover the whole surface. Wipe down the surface and it is ready to be used.
