"Why should I believe, because something is invented by a particular person or group of people, that that prevents other groups of human beings from excelling and reaching the very outer rims of excellence in those areas?" YES YES YES. Science, like art and music and literature and sport BELONG TO US ALL. Their capacities for interpretation, achievement, innovation are LIMITLESS and so should we think of ourselves as limitless. THANK YOU Glenn for always bringing reason and empowerment to the table.

Troubling that it has to be asserted that “objectivity” is available using the scientific method. Possibly some so-called intellectuals want to debate the possibility of objectivity, but they get on airplanes, eat food, ride elevators that would not be there were it not for science. But you cannot debate “solipsism “ with a solipsist. But they should not be pitied; they should be confronted.

The idea that racism or sexism is embedded in science reminds me of how some kids claim every time they loose a game, the game wasn't fair. Science isn't perfect but there isn't any better system of error correction. And in clear cases of racism like Eugenics criticism has undermined the idea. But still today when I was studying environmental science we had to reed feminist interpretations of science. Where they quoted sexist things that Francis Bacon had said and therefor somehow sexism must be embedded in science. I couldn't be that his views were reflective of the time in which he lived but rather the sexism must be the motivation for pursuing science. So clearly science exists so that white men can dominate everyone else. And dont bother me with how science has improved the world enormously, I mean that's just a narrative, and my narrative is much better be cause I say so.
This is just as anti-intellectual as the taliban and boku harams views on science. Its western therefor bad.

I have an opinion on this, the reason why most inventions and winners of noble prizes are European is because (I am not trying to take credit from them it’s just an explanatory on why that is);
1- the west renaissance happen to be in the mid 19 century and beginning of the 20th century where other races and cultures were in their dark ages.
2- even if there were any inventor or a creator but didn’t reside in Europe would have not had the means or attention or transportation or news outlet to be noticed or known.
3- few of these modern inventions were discovered while ago but was destroyed by wars and natural disasters ( the Mongols burned the Baghdad library (which had one copy of the books) and thrown all books in the Euphrates river which it’s water turned black for few days because of the ink.
3- the avg age of a noble winner technically is 55 I think but a lot of them were in their 70 and 80 and some more, there’s a guy who was 99 yo, what I am trying to say that inventions ideas comes at old age which was not common in old times because avg age of person was 45 or 50? If you Don’t believe take this piece of information ( 75% of startups are started by people 50 yo and older).
