You can use it to extinguish yourself if you are on fire in the nether, just like a normal splash water bottle, it just lasts longer and you can share it among more players if needed.

You can make the arrow of splashing, which doesn’t even extinguish fire or do damage to mobs, it is just a normal arrow

Rabbit hide is the most useless item. Its only use is crafting leather which you can easily get from killing cows. At least with the lingering potion of water it has uses when extinguishing fires or fighting endermen
