If there’s a weird game mechanic, Etho will capitalise on it
confused_cat
That entity extinguishing feature is actually coming in 1.20
Legundo
The best part is on Bedrock they can be used to put yourself out in the nether, if you're on fire.

The endermen killing mechanic is useful for enderman farms because it drops xp, so instead of swinging a bunch, you can throw one potion and kill them all at once

Instructions unclear, broke my phone after throwing a water bottle at the subscibe button

The extinguishing the player makes so much sense!!
Liana_Gupta
On both versions, they can also refill the timer (I think it’s both 5 minutes) of an Axolotl or Dolphin suffocating. Can be used in the nether for them but you can also use a snow bucket.

Putting out players on fire, mobs on fire and blocks on fire. Sounds like the perfect item if someone starts to set fire to your base. Lol

I think there was a recent change in java which made it so that splash water bottles extinguish a player on fire
shreyjain
Someone needs to tell skizzleman it can be used to kill an enderman

It's amazing how much Mojang hast done for the forgotten Splash water
Bunny_Bill
Me: spending months to get "splash water potion to kill enderman" added in to the game just so I could make a new farm.
Grian: this is normal
RaysWorks
i'm totally going to use these more often, it's gonna be so ridiculous

Extinguishing mobs (including the player) is such a basic and important thing though! It feels as core functionality of the splash water. We see a lot of parity changes coming to java this patch. Fingers crossed this is one of them.

Gotta love that bedrock bug where potion trajectory is off so when you throw up, it ends up on the floor behind you. Imagine trying to save yourself with splash potion of fire res and it doesn't land near you when thrown upward.

Something more useless: ✨THE ARROW OF SPLASHING✨

Why would you want to hurt a strider?!

Thank you for including Bedrock. I'd love to see a handful of Java and Bedrock players do a series of challenges out of their comfort zones, in each other's game. I think there's some real potential for some funny shenanigans.

Finally... us bedrockers have something come to us before java.
whyistherebossmusic
so you could create a working fire alarm that when the player flichs a lever that is in the wall with glass blocking it, it lets a signal out that triggers dispensors repeatably to put the fire out
