At least Fallout 4's settlement building mechanics gives these items some utility. These barbells are a must have in any post-apocalyptic home gym.

Actually i remember picking them all up and taking them to my base, the lead came in handy when i was crafting ammo with those assembler things from the dlcs

At yet the Sole Survivor has no trouble at all lifting it up with their ill-explained psionic powers.

In F4 there are five robot model kits around the wasteland: one for Mr. Gutsy, one for the Eyebot, Mr. Handy, Protectron, and Sentry bot. Interacting with any of the model kits will give you a small model of the robot like any other robot model you can find in the game, ofc with the only difference being that these 5 you assemble yourself.

Bethesda developers not knowing about gym equipment is a joke that writes itself

What's funny about them, is that they float on water. I remember carrying like 200 of them to the ocean to walk to spectacle Island with

I remember really needing lead one time and spending like 20 minutes over encumbered carrying like 10 of these back to sanctuary

Canonized that no one at Bethesda weight lifts

Lead has a good bit of usability if you use mods that let you craft ammo as lead is usually a key component. But for the lead you get back they are stupidly heavy

Always went to the Flatwoods motel gym in 76 to grab around 5-6 dumbbells/barbells to stock up on lead, you can get a lot there and server swapping also made ammo a nonexistent issue for me on early playthroughs.

Yeah you do stong back perks till you can fast travel while overencumbured and tou can get all the loot plus use your AP as you're running to move faster it just works

I typically use the lead for the ammunition plants from the Contraptions Workshop DLC but it feels worthless because I have a metric ton of ammo since the game has ammo scattered everywhere.

At least with strong back ranked up you can just take them then fast travel to your camp. People without the perk I'm not sure what your options would be.

I really like collecting these in Fallout 76 for my ammo crafting.

Wasn't there a giddyup buttercup in Mothership Zeta that was 4x the normal weight but half the size?!? Or is my memory worse than I thought?
Or maybe a glitch wayback when?! Idk

I have laboriously collected those weights from the boxing gym, Hardware town, the General Atomics Galleria, the Atom Cats, and the military supply place in the Glowing Sea many times. The only ones that don't respawn are the Galleria and the Atom Cats ones.
I like to use 5.56 ammo, and the lead is required for that. It is just as much, if not more, trouble to tour the traders who sell the miniscule '25 Shipment' of the stuff in order to get enough.
I will suffer almost any struggle if it involves acquiring substantial amounts of adhesive, lead, aluminium, nuclear material, and a few others.
But if you can pick up 160lb barbells, why can't you pick up rusty old barbeques or small metal shelves? Why is it impossible to carry or even drag a corpse in power armor when you are wearing power armor? Doesn't the 'power' bit mean anything?
I recall that, in Stalker games, the weight of the exoskeleton armor was counted as part of your load, even when wearing it. But exoskeleton armor would carry its own weight as well as that of the wearer and anything they may be carrying.
Devs really twist in the wind with some of this stuff.

Wasteland bro's gym and boxing a fitness gym that I built in sanctuary says otherwise. Strong holds the record bench press obviously.
