You do this so quickly in all your shorts/videos of it. I've used this method and others since my golden was 4 months old and unfortunately it takes 15-20 minutes to work per walk. Being firm, being soft, using treats, using prongs, sharp turns, leash pops; not even the 2 times he got excited as a pup and hit the end of the line so hard he flipped over backward. He just gradually softened as he aged but never walks with or behind. Been through 2 trainers and still notta xD

I expected this level of stubbornness out of a pit, not a golden.
Still love him though. He's just a wee bit special. I think my mistake was not getting him fixed at 2 years but now he's almost 7 so it is what it is. All he cares about are scents.

Tip: If you see your dog is about to lunge, do a gradual 180 before they hit the end of the leash. It forces them to turn with you and prevents your shoulders from being jerked out, without reinforcing the behavior.

Can you link what products you use to train? Ie treats, treat dispensers, collar’s etc. I have a 13 month double doodle that still has that huge puppy energy. He pulls on walks, jumps up on people when coming through the door. I watched the walking on a lease video & tried it but he’s so interested in smelling & peeing. Lol I used treats bc he is very food motivated but gets distracted.
