This building—the Burj Khalifa—which stands strong on loose, sandy soil braving the strong Arabian winds—is truly a modern engineering marvel. In this video, we are going to explore all the design secrets of the world’s tallest building, starting from its surprisingly simple hexagonal core. This incredible feat of civil engineering is even able to confuse the wind due to its unique shape and lightning with the help of modern technology. Let’s get into it.

After watching this, no one will think that Civil Engineering is not an exciting field. I didn't know that the spiral design was intended to reduce the effect of von Karman vortices. Thank you for teaching us useful engineering.

I am also a civil engineer and projects like this is a dream for every Civil engineer. Mesmerizing ♥

Lesics never disappoints. Very easily explained and kept me interested through out the whole video.

You are giving so much credit to the architect. You have to understand that the hidden hero for this building to withstand against all nature's forces is the work of the structural engineers. It is the structural engineers that theorized and made it to happen and build the structural integrity of the building to make sure that people will live here and the surrounding city safe.

Amazing how they made something so technically impressive but at the same also visually beautiful combing both in a seamless way.

I have always been fascinated by megastructures like these and I always wanted to visit this building and see it in person. This week, I was finally able to travel from Mexico and see it with my own eyes and… it is a

Just trying to imagine the workers assembling parts of the structure at such heights was mind blowing.

You can barely see people walking down the street but they look like tiny dots that look more like some type of tiny insects. Keep in mind that this was from floor 154 and that there are still more levels above. Just really impressive!!!

Amazing building. Just seeing this 3D model with the camera flying around triggers my fear of heights :) Incredible that such a thing exists, and in these conditions!

Watched a 2 hour documentary about construction of Burj Khalifa 7 yrs ago when I was a kid. This 12 min video is much simplified & also detailed as well.
Keep up the good work. Lots of love.❤

Whoever come up with the idea building this tall building is a genius

I remember when I was a kid and this building was being built there were so many news and documentaries about Dubai's projects. This city felt like it was building the future in the middle of the desert, it was so cool.

sir, your explanation is very well. can you explain how to print billions of transistors in a single semiconductor surface.

Covered almost all points but few imp points missed such as:
1.Cooling system
2.design for pressure difference between air inside the building and outside air.
3.water management.
I like the animation part a lot from your videos ❤️

Engineering is a tool which can be used such efficiently, just stunned.
Feeling proud to be Mechanical Engineering student.

The Burj Khalifa, where both static and dynamic vector mechanics work wonderfully together to showcase the combined power of civil and aeronautical engineering. Wonderful video.

And then the architect takes the whole credit. No one even know the name of Structural Engineer.

kudos to the Structural Engineer of Burj Khalifa.... Mr. William Baker... for making this engineering marvel... stand tall and strong.

That’s so crazy!!!! In physics class we did an experiment to create the tallest tower out of a limited supply of paper and this was my exact design I made. Except it was more of an elongated funnel shaped. And I got 1st place too

Wow, so the design is not only based in the looks but specially based in the stability and existence of the structure. What a masterpiece of engineering!

Thanks for all the explanation. It is a marvelous engineering indeed. However, the sewage system failed to accomodate the whole 828m height tower. Quite a flaw for such a megastructure.
