in this video, I give you a tour of my 8 favorite destinations in Olympic National Park. This is easily one of the top 10 national parks in the US for many reasons. From the snowy summits, to the temperate rainforest, and the tide pools on the coast, Olympic national Park has variety like no other park.
Hoh - temperate rain forest
12 feet of rain per year - we came during the dry season
130 species of lichens, ferns, and mosses
220 ft tall trees
lake crescent
glacial - was connected to lake sutherland, but a landslide long ago separated them
can see 60 feet down because the water is so clear
because the water is too cold for algae and lacks nitrogen - maximum of 55 degrees
624 ft maximum, and the average depth is 300 ft
12 miles long
Deer Park
Nobody at the ranger's station
Rialto
tide pools
sunset
look for gray whales which migrate north from mexico
