Second attempt at a Hobbit look this time inspired by Momo O'Brien's cute pastel Hobbit! It's maybe a little more fantasy fairytale than LOTR kind of hobbit, but I think it's very cute and like hobbitcore adjacent so works for me. I had a ton of fun making and wearing this, I hope you guys like it too!

8:14 the little Baby Bat "MEOWWWW" in the background is adorable (and because I'm sitting outside to watch this, I actually had to go back and make sure the sound was actually coming from the movie and not just a neighborhood cat!!!)

Yay I am excited to see more hobbit content on your channel! Maybe we can see a collaboration with Momo O'Brien in the future? LARP definitely needs more pink and florals🌸🌼

Reader's Digest guide to sewing is such a gem! That one and the guide to Needlework. So much info packed into those books.
This costume came out so nice! Love those sleeves and I did the lace hem detail as is.

Hobbit and Fairytale are not mutually exclusive aesthetics, and this is a good blend, solid Hobbit grounding with a more fanciful color palette. Lovely work!

I feel like sewing and larp has a huge crossover and I'm so glad it's becoming more of a feminine welcome place, growing up with brothers embracing femininity (gosh that was a struggle to spell so much ni!) has always been difficult for me but even though it's pastel it definitely reads hobbit to me!

I'd love to see a sort of ethereal/celestial elf look, I think you'd nail it as always.

Also yay for no hair on fire!

Omigoodness, perfect timing: I was just about to go look up a lapped zipper tutorial - thank you for reading my mind! Your hobbity things are so cute!!

SUCH a pretty costume!! The lace hem was a good choice, as hobbits are rustic folk and would not have fussy hems, plus they had longer skirts, at least in the animated movies (waaaay before your time!). Were you having first or second breakfast in the woods? It was a very nice LARP; super enjoyable. Looking forward to the next hobbit look.

It turned out great. To me it looks Alphonse Mucha-inspired. 😊 Thanks for the video.

Hobbits in the movies seems to be versatile in their clothing style, I think you would fit rigth in.

There absolutely is an overlap! A bunch of larp-y nerdy history sewing people exist in the crossover spaces.
I love that you're embracing the ultimate ridiculous joy of larping and hope you have an excellent time. Don't feel bad if you need to take some decompression time in there -it can be a lot the first time!

I think the pastel hobbit is a very cute look for you! I think it could definitely fall into a fay look. Very cute dress and I love the extra large flower crown!

To stop the shoulders falling down you could add a little ribbon at the back and tie them in a cute bow. I have to do that with most things as I have really sloping shoulders.

I'm glad you finally emerged from the other side of the poison ivy fog and that you're feeling well again! Such a cute fun make.

I audibly gasped at the reveal - so adorable and flattering! I think it's a very elegant kind of hobbity. Always appreciate how you show the little bits of your process, I feel like I absorb all kinds of general crafting tips from just that (fire on the edge of ribbon, using regular pencils on fabric, how to secure floral wire through silk flowers, etc.)

I feel like this is more fairy tale than hobbit but that doesn't detract from me liking this. As always the stuff you make is super cute!!

pinning your layers together is historical ;) (not that it matters!) A well placed safety pin will solve any irritating slips, but it looks good in both ways. This is a very well made costume and you look stunning in it. Also all the elf gowns. Just do everything!
