Sewing Some Hobbit-y Clothes & Answering Some Questions!

Behold, a true hodge-podge of a video! I wanted to do a more chit-chatty video and normally I'd chat about 'life and such', but there ain't much going on, so I asked you guys for some questions to answer while I made some cute hobbit-y stuff! I also PROMPTLY discovered that I can't multi-task, lol.
Enjoy and I hope this doesn't bore you too much!

Patterns I used:
Corset Vest: Butterick #B4669
Dress: "The American Weekly" #3865 (actually vintage, grabbed it on Etsy!)
Skirt: McCalls' "Two Hour Skirt" #5035

Hi guys!!! Sorry about the weird audio around 14 minutes. I had the ceiling fan on in the sunroom and didn't realize that the wind was strong enough to mess up my mic 😂🙈 I'll make sure to shut it off next time, my bad! If it's really bugging you, I do have subtitles for the video if you'd rather just turn the audio down 🙏

Seeing Rachel in modern clothes is like seeing your teacher on the weekend. It’s not wrong but it’s not quite right.

I'm so early, Smeagol hasn't been corrupted by the Ring yet.

I started watching Bernadette because she speaks to the perfectionist in me and shows how to ensure something is made perfect. But! Watching your videos reminds me that I need to keep it lose and not worry too much about things being perfect because otherwise I’ll never learn how to sew by just fantasizing about making something. And now I’ve actually made a couple things!

Rachel: I wasn't feeling very creative
Also Rachel: *Makes two garments in a day*
Me: what.
All jokes aside, you've really managed to brighten up my quarantine with your awesome sense of humor and fun, nerdy ramblings. Love you and your vids and Frodo of course!

video idea: turn yourself into Lizzy Bennet AND Mr. Darcy and do an edit of your favorite scene 😂

I loved the casualness of the format, felt super old-friends popping in without knocking vibes and that’s the kind of content I’ve been craving lately-casual social interactions. Thank you for that!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

If Frodo wasn’t in the way/around during *this* project, he wouldn’t be living up to his namesake. And that would be a shame.

"If you stay away from sewing because you're intimidated you'll never make anything. Just do it"
Exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks

So totally agree with you about. "Just do it". I started sewing when I was 40, because I needed a costume and could not buy what I needed. No seam finishes, no real idea what I was doing, but it worked. 20 years later, I'm still sewing and enjoying it. The nieces and nephews love visiting, as I have hundreds of kids costumes that they get to play with. Happy sewing.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who would rather crawl around on the floor rather than cut put fabric on a table XD

This room turned out so pretty. Rachel’s own hobbit hole 😍
... it didn’t sound very good, but you know what I mean, right?

Girl, you’re the vibe I’m going for- gaming, sewing, cosplaying, nerding out. Love it

The best trick I've ever learned for hemming circle skirts is to use bias tape. It's so much easier than trying to get a hem turned up smoothly and evenly!
