This is what happens to your hair after getting a Japanese Ionic Straightening hair perm. I've had this straight hair treatment done to my naturally curly hair for the past 5 years of my life and now that I am growing out my hair, I've decided to share my experience. FYI I didn't specify my hair type in the video (because tbh it's still hard to tell at this point and it's been so long since I've seen my natural hair) but I think I have 2B waves. Thin strand texture, but super thick volume. Also, yes I have some highlights which I got a year after my last perm treatment.

Have you thought about doing a modern mullet?
It might help with the growing hair, and leave only the curly ones

Thanks for the video! I had JHS once and it lasted for one and a half years (the regrowth was wavy but manageable)..
There is one question that I couldn't find a direct answer to... Is it possible to get wavy hair with JHS? I don't like the hair being pin-straight, so I wonder if its possible to get a wavy perm just by curling it with the flat iron (instead of straight) during the treatment session.. From your experience, do you think that's possible?

will it ever go away/how long will it take? and not by growing my hair out? because i got the straight perm like a year ago, but then i did a curl perm like a week ago, and my hair didn’t stay curled. so is the only solution just to grow my hair out for the straight perm to go away?
