Having driven my Atto 3 for over 6 months, I'm very satisfied with it. The tyres seem fine - if you drive 'appropriately' when wet. I've adjusted the seat to achieve full comfort without my head touching the 'headrest'. I suggest you turn up the regenerative braking from "Standard" to "High", and you'll need to use the brakes less when going downhill. Over 7 years of driving EVs, the Atto 3 does everything I want (and more) in a car.

The next day after taking delivery of my Atto 3 was to change my tyres to Continental Ecocontact 5 XL tyres same size as currently fitted to your Atto 3, these Continental Ecocontact 5 XL tyres are specifically designed for Evs. They were $1, 000 for 4 tyres, including fitting and balancing, and handled extremely well in both wet and dry conditions.

Not feeling the wiper blade motor in my Atto 3. That beeping sound is the proximity warning when there is a car parked on the side of the road, mine goes off when it detects the first car only not several parked along the road one behind the other.

I have my regenerative braking set to the strongest setting but drive in eco mode.

I've had my Atto 3 since October 2022. I really love the car after having 2 Subaru, and I didn't think I would ever buy anything that wasn't a Subaru. I find the seats super comfortable, and I had a few guests over the weekend who were really amazed with the comfort in the back seats. I don't love the Batman tyres but I think I'll wait until they're buggered to replace them. Someone mentioned slow charging in your comments. Until the weekend I had only ever used the granny charger, but I tried a commercial fast charger a few days ago and it went from 66 to 100% in the time it took for me to grab a few things at the supermarket. It was good to check my phone app and see where the battery was at while I shopped. Like you though, I hate the Collision Warning System and it irks me that I can't turn it off permanently. I don't understand why you can only turn it off for the current ignition cycle.

It’s not a headrest. It’s a head restraint meant to prevent whiplash injuries.

Honestly I have no idea of the sudden hit of the BYD vehicles. They are really good deals, especially compare to those Japanese garbages. Enjoy your car, Ed!

Well done Ed. Great review. Brief and to the point without the waffle we get from most reviews. Tyres in the wet issue. My advice: driver slower in wet conditions. Safer for you and everyone else. The tyres aren't really an issue for my Atto so far. All the rest, not biggies really, unless you're seeking the perfect car that's in tune with your personal sensitivities.

Good review and all fair comments. I find my seats are fine and comfortable for me. The forward collision warning system is very sensitive. When I drive home, I have to turn right at a roundabout and every time after I’ve completed the right turn and exit the roundabout, the system picks up the cars parked on the left hand side of the road and beeps at me.

Coming from 30 years of turbo Subarus I drive the Atto in S mode, it's a hoot (and yes the Batmans are average, but I suspect the front pair wont last long 🤣)

hi Ed, I am keen on purchasing a BYD, and greatly appreciate your feedback. Keep up the good work, and good luck with tyres

In Belgium these come with Continental EcoContact 6 Q tires. Perfect in the rain!

Hi Ed! I have an Atto 3 on order and really enjoyed your video - a fair assessment. The brake and wiper relationship could be the vehicle applying the brakes lightly in the wet to dry them. Quite a few modern vehicles do this now and if you notice it once - you can't stop noticing it. It is a good safety feature though.

Here are the list i wanna know from your experiences!
1. How you feel about the AC? Cos not sure if the AC are the same made as Petrolium car. Like for example when driving petrolium car to able to run solid AC you must have an engine turns on! If the engine is off and only power on to run the AC it gotten weak and you feel sticky moist coming out from the AC to your face.
2. Home self power charging cable eperience. Is it convenient or safety to leave it be when you go sleep? Will it be stolen? Will it be damaging your car plugging so many times in a day? Is it water proof safe during heavy rain outside while charging?
3. Inside door opening handle eperience? Comfortable easy?
4. Any weird sound from suspension shock? The feeling comfort from suspension on bumped and rusted road?
5. Tyres experience that you have mentioned during the rains when you go round about. Well from my experience if it car's fropnt wheel drive then the tyre for the front wheel drive is important. I would recommended Bridgestone Potenza. good grips on rains and less noises plus longevity last me 75000KM for the front and rear 80000KM.
6. From the back seat folding down flat. Can you fit your whole body at the back sleeping? How much length you get if you fold down the back seat chairs?
7. Headlight experience at night. Low and High light quality.

Tyres is an interesting point, here in the UK the Atto3 is supplied with Continental tyres. I believe the dealers are advised to change them from original fit to contis here and from my driving background including some test driving there is never enough emphasis put on the difference tyres truly make even amongst what are thought as good brands can be several meters further to stop which is difference between a near miss and a considerable impact! The manufacturers clearly believe these tyres have a good compatibility here so maybe worth considering as a change

The reason your feeling movment through the brake pedal is because when its raining and the wipers are on the atto3 lightly applies the brakes each time wipers move to keep them clean and dry keeping them clean warm and ready to use but only does this in the wet

The brakes ARE linked to the wipers. The car will apply slight brake pressure to dry the pads in wet weather. It's in the manual...

I angle the seat back far enough that my head doesn't touch the rest, and it's comfortable.
