After failing multiple times with Etcher, I decided to use Rufus, and that worked.
For those who have an older machine, the ones that doesn't use UEFI, use Rufus (it will download some extra data for linux iso) and set the installation to non-UEFI.

I'm watching with this laptop on Zorin OS. =D Btw it will automatically install Wine and install windows executables if you double click a .exe file. Also, Zorin connect is great if you have an android phone. You can text from it and do wireless file transfers as well as many other things.

I’ve used zorin for years! On older laptops for friends and family that want a really really good Linux that can be used like windows or macOS without having to learn how to code for Linux. I’ve always suggested it to ppl wanting to get into Linux the fun way and not rage quitting or giving up on Linux 100% lol.

I first used Linux Caldera in 1999. I use VirtualBox, and have used many, many Distros. I believe Zorin OS to be better than even Lubuntu! Excellent!

Such a good feature - Zorin connect, which is connection between the pc and your android phone natively built inside the system. This is great game changer compared to other distros.

Zorin was my Linux distro of choice when I was using it on an old computer for awhile before I obtained a Windows key. If you're not into PC gaming this is a good choice.

I have been using ZorinOS Ultimate off and on now since version 12.x. I LOVE it! Now have version 15.x and I have to say it is well worth the money. One feature I love with the paid version is the ability to use a very macOS-like dock appearance configuration. To my knowledge, you only have that option with the paid version. Maybe it's possible to install it in the Lite or Core versions, but I don't want to spend a ton of time crawling around in the forums or through the interwebs looking for instructions to do so. The devs have done the work and I don't mind paying that price for the convenience of a very polished OS. Once I am able to game on Linux well using Steam and GoG, I'm switching my daily driver OS over to Zorin. I just installed the Lite version on an old Gateway laptop with dual Celeron, 2GB of RAM and an SSD and it is running well. I also need to install it on my Moms' old Core2Duo machine that is currently running Windows 7 (I KNOW. I KNOW.). Thank you for this honest review on ZorinOS. It is nice to see a review of a product I am using by someone that I respect.

The paid version is well worth it. Lots of extra apps pre-installed plus it helps support further development of Zorin.

i bought Zorin because I believe in it so much. I have had little issues with it and I use it as my daily driver on my 10 year old i7 laptop.
