Zorin OS is a heavily customized version of Ubuntu featuring an Ubuntu layout that you can access if you pay for it. (kinda weird) But overall this is an awesome option for those new to trying out Linux that might just want to use pre-existing settings to customize their desktops.

A really good reason to buy the premium edition is to support the good work of the Zorin brothers in Ireland. This is their business and they work really hard and I think it's worth purchasing. Also the release of the full version is coming on December 20th.

I like Zorin's Light theme. Not all Gnome Distros can make a clean light theme like Zorin did. It's usually still dark grey when you get to the desktop switcher for example

Heh, compiz was one of the reasons i tried out Ubuntu around 2006/7. 3D cube and writing with flames over your desktop. Good times 😂

I'm a Zorin donator because I just very much like the look and feel of it and it's a nice distro to get people accustomed to Linux but I just wish they'd get up to speed with kernels and Gnome versions a bit faster.

Zonin OS 16 Pro is my Linux of choice. It’s just so user friendly, and as a bit of noob with Linux it’s been a joy to learn on.

Zorin is great. I ended up switching my dad to it because he was on Windows 8.1 and didn't want to go to 10. No complains from him and he's been a Windows user for 20 years.

I am a KDE only guy, but, until 6 is ready, this is the best distro I have used so far. Speed, zero issues, Dual screen no problems, Wayland working fine. All apps I've tested have worked flawlessly. Honestly, if KDE doesn't get a in house display to tv sharing like gnome network monitors, I'll probably switch.

Currently using Zorin OS 16 and I liked it so far. The interface really reminded me of mac os and windows. I only switched to Linux because Windows slows down my old hardware with their annoying updates.
Thank god Linux distro exist!!!!

Love Zorin 16 in dark mode themed (easy on my eyes and will look great when HDR support arrives) and can't wait for 17 on Wednesdays. I will be paying for Pro to support the development team. I run Zorin on my laptop and home desktop.

Great content (as usual)! I'm with you on liking the Windows 11 layout. I've actually been modifying whatever Linux distro/DE I've been using to look and feel that way since 2016 (obviously way before Windows 11). I've learned that I can waste a TON of time modifying the look and feel of my Linux install because it's fun and interesting, but I've realized isn't how I ultimately want to spend my time. I love Zorin OS Pro because I can get the look and feel I want with a few clicks of the mouse and I can focus on developing software and creating dev content.

Used zorin for 3 years (switched to fedora almost a year ago), bought a new laptop which I am installing zorin 17 as soon as the laptop arrives

You just unlocked a old memory on my brain when you said “compiz”. Basically in my computer beginning i never had a powerful computer to play the latest games so when my friends from l school came at me for CD swapping and burning, i tried to impress them with compiz. In that time everyone had XP so seeing burning windows, fire mouse pointer, a desktop swiching like a cube, etc 😅 I was the cool boy for like 2 weeks until a new PC game appears and they didn’t talk about my OS anymore. 😂
