Coconut oil doesn't have high burn rate.
Grapeseed, avalado, lard all fine, but coconut burns too high
That looks like a lot of oil when it went in the pan.
That will make it gunky over time

Skillet should be upside down in the oven when seasoning

Coconut oil and 500* makes smoke alarms go off and dispatch calling to see if you need a fire truck. And it only took <15 min
Airing out the house now 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

No, if you have clean mode in your oven put your cast iron in there and all burned grease will turn into ashes

I had to use salt and water to clean stuck sauce that i accidentally put on the steak. I just bought one ive never cooked in one before. I cleaned it and heated it about 10 minutes on the stove top and put olive oil on it. I didn't put it in the oven again. I hope its good to go again.

Too much work.
Just buy a Teflon pan.
