I loved how prominent Layne’s voice is around 2:55. He has such a gentle quality to his singing voice, which is perfect for this section, and also contrasts nicely to his usual sick beats. Y’all so talented! 😊

So I'm the family DJ and my stepdad never seems to notice what music I play while I'm cooking. But the other day I played this and he said, "that's a good version, huh?" And then a few days later I played the Kate Bush version and he asked for this one instead. Y'all really won him over

So... I did/caused a thing at work involving this video/song.
I forgot I left Bluetooth on... and my phone connected to the entire speaker system at my job (a bakery), and everyone froze... looked around, and to my surprise many of them started singing along.
My boss walks in and asks who’s music is this... my answer was it’s my phone, and it’s my favorite a cappella group singing. She asked who they are... I told her: it’s Voiceplay, a group of guys plus a female friend of theirs singing a song from Stranger Things.
Her response: what else have they done? I show her some videos...
Her next sentence almost brought me to my knees.
My boss: “I love the beatboxer... he’s so handsome.”
My response: yes yes he is

So I ended up playing almost every song done by Voiceplay from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm... and singing along with every single one.

I love that the guys are not just continuing to sing, regardless of the levitation, they are frozen in place, save for their singing. Look at how much they were bopping along before, then they are all still while she levitates. The terrified faces make more sense too. (I have never watched Stranger Things, so maybe there's a reason, I don't know.)

I kind of regret finding VoicePlay. It seems all my time is spent obsessively watching these videos anymore. :D I also have to give it to Mr. Stein: His beats and mixing are insane. He is incomparable and so critical to how good these songs turn out! But, omg all of these voices were so great together. Every single person was irreplaceable. This is by far my favorite version, even over the original!

I can’t believe that it took me this many times of watching the video to realize that they’re portraying Geoff as Vecna! If you listen to the lyrics that he features on, plus how the background and colors change when he’s singing, it makes so much sense. Just another understated touch of brilliance from these guys!

I've lost count of the times I've come back to this version of an all time classic tune. It's rare that I find a remake of an original that I like, but this is just outstanding. Keep it up guys, you've all got amazing individual talent but working together, you're phenomenal.
