I love how this entire scene is a metaphor for fighting against depression or PTSD. You can either let it consume you... Or keep on fighting.

My sister sadly passed away last night, she was 19 with muscular dystrophy and we got told her life expectancy was 15. She was wheelchair bound all her life and couldn't do much herself but that didn't stop her. Our mum was her full time carer. The one thing she could do, and did with some much passion, is use her iPad and watch TV shows and movies. She absolutely adored Stranger Things and specifically this scene and song... it was on almost every single time I walked in the door. I've never seen the show but I can't help but watch this in memory of her.

I've proposed to my family it plays as the last song to her funeral because of both the love she had for the song and show.. but I feel like the lyrics have a meaning that we want to believe instead. In that... she made a deal with god so she's no longer wheelchair bound; she repeatedly told us that she had dreams where she could walk and run up that hill... up that road.. Rest in Peace Sis.. we love you and we hope you're running up that hill.

This scene hit so hard. The whole episode is her literally fighting with her own demons and almost giving up. But remembering the times that make life worth living brought her back 👏

This scene broke me. I’ve been a fan of Max since season 2 and it hit me when I saw how truly broken she was, and yet she chose to live and fight. So inspiring

that ending shot with the silhouette is the most beautiful shot in the show.

Not a single kind of any evil in this world or other could beat the power of the 80s music.

2 years later, I only just realized that everytime Vecna levitated his victims, they were metaphorically hanging from nooses by depression.

The piano outro.
It’s so unbelievably incredibly beautiful. The addition of it is elegant, fragile, and delicate. Simply beautiful. It touches the deepest part of my heart. I’m floored by how amazing the entirety of this scene is especially that ending. Maybe my favorite part of any tv show ever… this scene, the music, this outro…. Perfection.

She was depressed, thinking of dying, but she chose to live. That running scene was so powerful and simbolic. One of the best in st

I remember watching it when I was only 23 yo and fighting cancer with many series of chemo. Now I am still coming back to this song when day to day „problems” take over to remind myself what journey I had to make to be able to say I’m still here.

I don't think they could've chosen a better song for this scene at all. we were all truly immersed in the moment during this. so good

I think for a lot of us this scene made the entire season. In fact, I think it’s my favorite scene out of all of the seasons. I still tear up when I watch it. The combination of the emotion and the music and the friends trying desperately not to lose her just makes you want to live. When you see them putting their hands on their heads and freaking out when she’s in the air and yelling her name and the tear rolls down her cheek, pure genius.
