I love how the lady at the second restaurant took the time to tell him she's going to speak more slowly so he can absorb what she's saying. When learning a language it helps so much to hear slow and concise pronunciation. Props to her !

I had some Brazilian friends in middle school and when I heard them speaking with their parents or each other I always thought it sounded so pretty. Brazilian Portuguese has such a pretty flow to it, almost musical.

In 1992, I worked in Brazil for 6 months (Bello Horizonte). My very limited Spanish helped a bit, but it was a blend of French, Italian, and Spanish that got me trough the whole experience. I enjoyed my experience there very much, and came away with new friends and pleasant memories!
