You should really emphasise the high network usage may have a legitimate cause - Windows Update or the Xbox app. In which case, the user could pause the updates (if required) using the relevant settings in the associated applications. This would be a far better solution than blindly ending processes in task manager.

i dont know if ending task on the network service is a good idea cus when i right click on it and click show details, theres a bunch of stuff in there that i dont know the meaning of and some stuff related to my graphics card and i only ended one of the tasks in there and it made my screen go black. i had to do computer magic to get the screen back but whos to say my whole pc wont fry if i ended the whole thing

I found a better method, since you do need the process to be running just limit the bandwidth used for downloads. All you have to do is go to Settings - Windows Update - Advanced options - Delivery optimization - Download options, here just set it to a low percentage like 5 so that it only pulls a small amount.

The only downside of doing this is that incase you do manually do a windows update or downloads and updates on the microsoft store, this limit applies to them and will be slow but you can just temporarily change that back to a higher percentage and get the job done quickly.

It will start again after restart or when you reboot again. Shit windows is sending some our data to Microsoft. Shame on Microsoft. Switching to Linux is the best option.

absolutely absurd its like they are using my computer to mine bitcoin every time i try to play a game it doesn't work at all and when ever i end the host task it literally opens back up almost immediately.
