I'm really questioning this guy's review coz I have both and that's not the case. The JBL is a BIT louder and has better light features but the Sony has the better sound quality by a huge margin.

The XP500 has 10x better sound quality than the Partybox. The clarity is fantastic, the audio signature is very clean and accurate. The jbl on the other hand sounds extremely bright which will work for more mainstream tracks but gets stale after about 20 minutes of listening

Whoever says sony speakers are good, have bad taste in sound quality, i used to be a sony fan, nothing existed other than sony, untill i opened my mind and ears to other brands.. jbl stumps sony speakers. Sony speakers sound dull, highs not high enough, bass not deep enough.
Just try and give other brands a real try, you'll be sorry for the years you've lost using sony speakers when you could've used something else.
