FMAB is by far my favorite anime, from the characters to the world building to the fight scenes it’s all so stunning, I actually cosplayed Ed for comic con and plan to make a full arm for next year.

As the years go by FMA Brotherhood continues to age like wine. It’s Shonen at its peak. The series as a whole is a 9.4/10 to me. Every theme the series aimed to present they presented with nuance and depth and they presented each theme to completion. The homunculus were crafted masterfully, the dilemma of the boys was developed with thought and care, each character and side character were interesting and had full story arcs relative to the narrative, and they know when to kill characters and how to do so impactfully.

Hughes is still on of the best done deaths I have ever seen in an anime. It set the tone for the series perfectly. Borderline gave me the same shock as Ned Starks death, you just didn’t expect it to happen, and it let you know the series had stakes.



Mustang, Hawkeye, Ed, Al, Winry, Greed/Lin, Wrath, Kimblee, Scar, they all just add so much to the series and there are more characters to go on about.

Then brotherhood came out during university.. absolutely legendary and my top 1 of all time period.

FMAB is the only anime in my history of being a fan that was never disrespected. Naruto was significantly more popular here in the west so One Piece and Bleach fans had to deal with a ton of slander. 10 years later and now Naruto is widely regarded as the worst of The Big 3. (I love them all personally) FMAB was considered one of the greatest animes when I first started watching and it still is. There are a few other shows that I wish stayed in the general anime fandom conscious. Gurren Lagann is a anime I never hear anyone really talk about anymore. It was in the same lane as series like Death Note, FMAB, and many other highly rated animes. I recommend everyone to watch it. One of the most touching animes that has stood the test of time.
