I think it is great that you are helping Australia have good quality Rams since it seems to be difficult to find quality where you live. Good for you Nick!

I love what you’re doing there. I’m in the US and benefit from people in the hobby having done exactly what you’re doing. Breeding quality fish, bringing awareness, educating, and growing the hobby there. Great work!

Awesome video Nick 👍 thanks for the tips. I actually asked both Dean and Cory in a live stream what they keep their rams at and they both said ph of 7 - they said a neutral ph avoids lots of problems

I got myself Bolivian rams, never had German or black rams. I've enjoyed them, they seem to live longer and be more forgiving than what I've heard of their smaller cousins. Very good community fish since they do well in general community temperatures and somewhat hard water, but they are not as pretty in stores and take a few weeks to colour up.

Your rams and plecos caught my eye, I’m from Mackay Queensland and was talking to Lauren who gets some of her fish from you so it is great to see a your utube site for us in Qld. 👍🏼
I am looking into the care of rams to maybe set up a aquarium for them and love your blue black, but want to look a bit more into the care and see how Lauren’s go 🥰
Love your videos 👍🏼

This is a fantastic video on Rams, I have 20 of them in my 150 gallon indoor pond and they are living well for 6+ months now. I am thinking of adding some other cichlids, like, bandits, severum, would that be right? What do you suggest? Thank you so much.

Thanks for the video.. I bought these at my local store because they were beautiful. I seem to be somewhat successful by accident. I have a black glass tank with 2 inches of river rock. UGF & HOB. I bought all females by accident. I had no clue how to sex them. I bought both German Blue and also Gold. I have many plastic plants for cover etc. I run my tank at 80°. I tried several types of food before I found what they like. They don't seem to like baby shrimp for some reason or floating pellets. They do like bug bites and Cichlid flakes. I tried blood worms. Not sure if they like them or not. I had 7. But 1 died. I have no clue why. I have 2 Full grown Blues. Two 1 inch Blues and two 1 inch Golds. They share the tank with a featherfin catfish and a snail. They ram each other very often. Seem to play chase each other. No major issues so far. I've only had them 3 months. TBH. I don't know what my water is. Because I don't own a test kit. Will get one soon. I did notice 1 major issue. Too much oxygen is bad for these. I reduced my oxygen greatly and they became more active. I never knew too much could also kill them. Any tips are much appreciated. Thanks again .

I love your advice. I knew about blood worms and I fave it to my rams. few days later my female died and I didn't notice then I had ammonia spike and lost a pair.

That was really helpful. I didn't realise Australia didn't have the best quality Ram stock and keeping them at a higher temperature. Thanks

I have 2 female bolivians in my heavily planted and decorated 29 gal community tank. They were small when i got them and they paired up and swam side by side for about one month. Then.... one turned into a complete total 100% Btch with a capital B! She doesnt bother the mollies, neons, rasporas, snails and otos. She has death eyes for the other ram. My other tank is about ready for her to move to until i can donate her.

I video Nick, I've had rams before, they great to look at for a while until their demise. I much prefer the hardier Bolivian rams, although I am looking into getting a pair of apistos, but not sure which one would be suitable for a community tank with praecox rainbowfish. I'm staying away from fish that require discus type temperatures 🤣. A hints and tips video on apistos would be awesome and a list of your top 7 or 10 that you've had experience with. Cheers 👍

I've tried to keep Rams but never could find quality stock. My well water is almost perfect for them. 30 to 40 tds, 6.7 ph. Very little hardness at all. I live in the US in the Appalachian mountains. I do watch your channel and hopefully one day I'll get some.
