A great hitter that had the best year of his career hitting in front of the unanimous mvp. Bad fielder and bad base runner. This will go down as the biggest fubar in baseball contract history

There is one Ohtani. It's not like you can just make another one.

This is ridiculous. Juan Soto has never won an MVP award and gets paid more than someone like Aaron Judge, who has won it twice.

Not a Dodgers fan, but I will pay to go see Ohtani. Will not spend a dime just to see Soto. Cohen's mouth and pride are on the line, and he likes to make a splash on the bb world, but paying $765M for one player is a fool's game. Don't care how rich he is this deal is all about Cohen and not about how great a hitter Soto is. Met fans should care about the amount of money he is paying because nothing is for free. Fans will have to cough up more for tickets, merch, food, parking, etc in the coming years. Soto does not have the marketability that Ohtani has nor the drive to be the best player. Ohtani is all about the game and not the money, and that's what makes him unique and valuable to the team and Ohtani fans across the globe.

Shohei Othani is the goat of baseball. 💯⚾

Current owners bought their teams back in the day for 700 million, now this is the price for one player.

No MVP, no batting title, where is the value for 765 million dollars for Juan Soto?

Soto is not Ohtani. Ohtani is better than him!

Mets overpaid for Juan Soto… he is great hitter but definitely NOT in the same level with Otani

Ohtani plays for the love of the game. Soto plays for the love of money... In the end, Ohtani has $100 millions in endorsement on top of his $70 millions...

Soto sells zero tickets. Shohei seeks out every stadium.

Othani is worth 2 billion, soto isn't worth that contract. He's an above average player. Kudos to the players who get the money. Sucks for us fans that pay to watch them at stadiums

With Ohtani you are playing for 2 players, as a pitcher and hitter so TD just $350M each. It’s not a bad contract like Soto.

ohtani could have gotten 900 million contract he hits free agency now

You can make the case that Ohanti can become an outfielder or even play 1B after pitching he’s that athletic

I'm so happy my team did not sign Juan Soto. The Mets are screwed for the next 15 years.

Every player that he named, Soto is not better than any of them, he's not worth that contract. At the end of the day Soto is not "MUST WATCH TV", the Mets will regret that asinine contract in the end. 💯

The only team that can honestly say they didn’t need him at all is the Dodgers. And they probably made an offer just to jack up the price. 😎

What you said about getting a mostly one dimensional player is so true and my first thought about this. With Ohtani you get an elite two way player with an entire country worth of fans who back him. With Soto you just get a great hitter lol in my opinion he got overpaid by 200 milion dollars which is WILD

The Mets got Soto but are still 30 times worse than the dodgers. Ohtani won a World Series year one lol
