Silent Reflux is aggrivated by the following:
-Caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea and soda.
-Alcohol drinks
-Chocolate
-Spicy, heavily seasoned foods
-Fried or high fat foods
-Acidic foods like citrus fruits, tomatoes, vinegar, onions 🧅, garlic 🧄, mints, carbonated beverages.
Things that can help rid this:
-Eat smaller meals through out the day so your stomach has time to digest food.
-Stop eating 2 to 3 hours before you lay down to go to sleep.
-Elevate your bed 6 to 8 inches since lying down can aggravate and contribute to acid reflux.

I struggled with this for years, and for me it was all about intermittent fasting. I kept experimenting with cutting out dairy, or sugar and processed foods, and changing my diet in all the suggested ways. It never helped, no matter how healthy or bland, I was coughing up phlegm every morning. I started intermittent fasting about 2 years ago and the morning mucus is gone. I try to eat healthy, but even when I indulge in processed or sugary foods it makes no difference.
I also disagree with the suggestion of eating more smaller meals throughout the day. I think it's good to eat fewer meals and let your digestive system get rest. I find myself most comfortable when eating one small meal and one large meal per day, When you eat constantly, different foods are all at different stages of digestion in your intestines and they get overwhelmed.
I know people are different, but for me it was all about timing and nothing else made a difference. If you haven't tried intermittent fasting, I strongly suggest you give it a try. I wish I had discovered this secret when I was young, I tortured myself with dairy deprivation and other food restrictions, but never realized how important time restriction was.

I have been dealing with this for 4 years and been to 5 different doctors, had numerous tests, and none of them ever figured this out. I was told I have non-acid reflux and a problem swallowing. Try asking your doctor for a referral to an ENT specialist for a swallow test. It may reveal a diverticula or small pouncing in the wall of your esophagus.

This can be corrected surgically.

I have had this for probably 24 years. I also have acute sinusitis. The acid has eroded my tooth enamel and I had to have 4 root canals and crowns.

I’ve never seen a more unhelpful video on this throat mucous. Lift bed. We already know that. Eat light and not close to bed time. I was waiting for something profound but it never came😢
